Theme: plant production (cabbage)

Lesson/Topic: diseases and pests

Lesson contents/ Focus/Sub topics: the diseases and pests that affects cabbage.

Previous knowledge /Entry behaviour: the teacher will ask learners to mention the types of
pests and diseases that affect plants and vegetables

Learning objective: learners will understand the effect of diseases and pests on vegetables

Basic competency: describe how to control pests and diseases on vegetables including the
costs incurred

Lesson objectives: by the end of the lesson learners should be able to identify diseases and
pests that affect cabbage.

Teaching and learning aids/Instructional materials: PowerPoint, chalkboard, ash,

Teaching Methods: direct and demonstration method

Introduction/ set induction/ review of previous knowledge (2 minutes)

The teacher will begin by introducing the topic and introduce lesson objectives, further ask
learners of what they know about the topic
