MUSEUM OF ABSTRACT ART.

SPEAKING 1º BACHILLERATO

1. FIRST OF ALL: PRINT YOUR PIECE OF ART


2. DIALOGUE:

A: Hi Javi.

B: Hi Juan Jo How is it going?

A: Great. You know, I visited the museum of abstract art in Cuenca last Friday.

B: Oh, so did I. Had you ever visited the museum before? What was it like?

A: Really interesting.

B: Really? Why was that?

A: Because it was surprising discovering the meaning of the pictures according to the title. It
was like a game for me.

B: I bet that was absolutely interesting! I had visited the museum of the sciences of Valencia,
the experience was fun, you should go visit it. In the museum I had seen many interesting
devices like pushing a ball with your power of the rationed mind.

A: Did you know that the museum was opened to the public in 1966 and thanks to Fernando
Zóbel and Gustavo Torner, this museum was located in Cuenca?

B: Oh yes! And do you know Fernando Zobel in 1963 was lived in Cuenca with his friend
Gustavo Torner, after some days, the building of the Hanging Houses of Cuenca was offered by
the mayor of Cuenca for his collection of paints.

A: What is your favourite piece of art?

B: It is called El Júcar X .It was painted by Fernando Zobel, painted in oil on canvas, which you
can see contrast between black and white. And yours? What is your favourite piece of art?

A: it is called cocktail party, it was painted by Antonio Saura, it is really colourful and it
represents lots of figures like faces or monster… but actually it shows what you want to see.

B: Was there anything you found shocking?

A: Of course. The large number colors who has the piece of art.

B: Fantastic. I found something very strange because the blue colour it so small that where
that can not represent the river Jucar just as I saw it last day.

A: The guide asked us if we knew that why he use this color and we answered that we not
know.

B: Yes. He also asked why they painted with geometrical and we said that it because the
painter was a mathematician who likes geometry
A: At the end, we draw and painted our own skull in the workshop of the museum. Look! This
is my piece of art it was great because it was like paint bad.

B: Well, this is mine. Look! My paint have a lot of line that they in which to form a corpse in
front and side view. I was hallucinating in painting it as well as I thought.

A: The museum was great if I could came here again I would have do

B: Well, I would have been there again to see my paint, if I had time to go.

A: What did you learn in the visit?

B: I should learn to paint well, that can help me get a fantastic paint. What did you learn?

A: I learn lots of things about the art and I may return soon to show it to my friends

B: Ok, then. It seems we both enjoyed of the visit, the experience was fantastic and it was a
fun day for me. See you soon

A: Oh yes. We enjoy with that visit I hope we meet soon to come here again, bye
