Statement of employment

To whom it may concern;

This employment statement is to be stated as regards to the work experience and


detailed duties in the workplace that Mr Harinder Pal Singh carries as a cook in
Sahib’s restaurant which is located at 16 Belgrave street Manly 2095 , NSW.
Harinder Pal Singh has been employed in our restaurant since June 14, 2008 to 20
June 2010. As a part time , Harinder Pal Singh worked twenty hours every week as
per the student working requirements and has completed more than 900 hours in the
Sahib restaurant.

As a cook Harinder Pal Singh has also various other duties and responsibilities to
perform. He is capable of preparing, cooking and many dishes which range from
entrees, main courses and desserts of various choices and as well side dishes. In
addition, Harinder Pal Singh is also responsible for preparing and preserving stocks
and sauces. This mainly include cutting and preparing various herbs, roasted
coriander seeds, lentils, spices and vegetables including carrot, radish, potatoes,
tomatoes and whole or halved shallots or onions and then cooking processes to
required and unique taste.

Harinder Pal Singh is competent at using different types of kitchen equipment when
preparing these dishes, stocks and sauces. For example, Harinder Pal Singh is
competent in using various kitchen appliances and their regular maintenance and is
aware of all the systems of the appliance regarding their temperature control of
every appliance like ovens, grills, salamanders and deep fryers when he prepares
beef, lamb, chicken, fish seafood and vegetables. Harinder Pal Singh’s use of
cutlery is also perfect and fast. This includes deboning, filleting, cutting, slicing meats
and vegetables using a variety of knives. Harinder Pal Singh has also effective skills
in using other equipments such as frying pans, blender, common cooking pans and
pots.

Besides this Harinder Pal Singh has also effective skills in in presenting food before
serving to the customers. This entails accurate portioning and placing food in dishes
carefully and topping them with sauces, vegetables and sides of rice in order to
enrich the visual appearance and aroma of food served. We are all impressed by the
flexibility and busy time management when customers’ orders of food are prepared
according to their dietary requirements and culinary balance.

Furthermore, Harinder Pal Singh has strictly complied with O,H&S procedures. He
regularly helps chef to overlook the cooking activities in order to make sure that all
activities undertaken are completed in a safe and professional manner. In addition,
Harinder Pal Singh ensures that all the appliances such as grills and ovens are
operating without malfunctions and at the accurate temperature. If equipment was
not properly working or malfunctions he was advised to report it to the owner and to
put in a work request based on urgency for purpose of repair.

Apart from kitchen duties, Harinder Pal Singh is also responsible for receiving new
shipments of meats and other ingredients from delivery. He has to check if they are
of good quality and of right amount and proportion. He then needs to sore all the
items received in appropriate facility such as the fridge, freezer or dry room.

Now as per my experience in working with Mr Harinder Pal Singh I have found him
that he is very hardworking and talented guy, helpful, intelligent and receptive to new
information and other people’s opinions. He has developed exceptional cooking skills
while displaying strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
