Listening to Mariah Carey seems like spending time with an old friend, a beautiful sunny
day, a big hug, and a private concert. Her voice never sounds flat or off-key even during live
performances.The emotions of the song reach the audience or anybody who listens to her
beautiful voice(Complex sentence). I started to listen to her songs ever since my mom introduced
me to her. Since then, I have always admired how she can hit in the whistle range without forcing
the note out of her vocal cords. Every note sounds full of joy and happiness that turns my mood
around. I will work as hard as she does and I become as good of a singer like her(Compound
Sentence).
Firstly, whenever I feel down, listening to Mariah Carey’s singing comforts me just like a
friend would do if I felt depressed. Whenever I get into a fight with my parents, siblings, or even
friends, Mariah Carey’s singing calms me down. Listening to her music makes me feel satisfied
and happy again. All my worries and troubles disappear into thin air. Mariah Carey abides as a
force of nature.

Additionally, her voice seems like a big hug. I absolutely love the song called Open Arms.
This song that Mariah Carey made into her own, conveys the message saying that whatever times
one goes through, there will always be open arms to snatch one up in a big hug. The way she sings
matches up with the feeling of each song. Her singing touches people’s heart.

Whenever she sings, it seems like attending a private concert and only having me as her
audience. When I listen to her songs on my iPhone, it seems like I am the only person who
watches and listens to her performance(Complex Sentence). Her singing endures as clear as
spring water.

I love listening to Mariah Carey singing because her life inspires me. She has a hard life
but she never gave up(Compound Sentence). She states “Never, never listen to anybody that try
to discourage you.” Even though, she went through hard times, she never quit singing. Mariah,
born to a white mother and a black father, faced discrimination throughout her childhood. She
pursued, however, her dreams of becoming a famous pop singer.

Mariah Carey’s singing exists as a beautiful sunny day, a private concert, spending time
with an old friend, and a big hug. She has inspired many people including me. She takes her
career very seriously, perseveres , and she always manages to make people feel all tingly and
happy inside(Compound Sentence). She continues to amaze people with her abilities. I hope to
achieve those kinds of goals in my life.
