NARATIONS FOR SECTION 1

SLIDE 01:
Hello all my archi friends,

Welcome to Archidemic,

We at archdemic design various courses for architectural students as well professionals. These courses
are meant for the students who want to broaden their perspective in architecture.

Our courses are designed to cover various subjects which are knowledge and experience based. Our
professional orientation-based courses explain topics which are imperative for professional grooming.
Topics such as guide to design your portfolio or inters hip journey or professional program are a great
hack for students’ transformation to a Professional architect.

Our How to… series is based on the methodology aspect of designing. Topics such as how to conduct
case studies and site analysis or how to develop from a concept to designing or how to search a relevant
topic for thesis gives many students a sense of direction and aligns their creative minds with logic and
analysis. Along with the course tips and techniques on presentation helps them build confidence in
designing

We also have courses on technical, theoretical and design related subjects. Topics such as illumination
design, vocabulary of design, building services are also included in the theoretical series. The best part of
these course is that they are not just information fed study programs but are simplified into many short
illustrations, analogies and metaphors to make sure that the underlying concept. This further helps
students to apply these theoretical concepts into their design.

SLIDE 02:
This course is dedicated to understanding basic concepts of sustainability and green
architecture.

Considering today’s acute environmental crisis, it becomes very important for an architect to
have enough knowledge about the application of basic theories in sustainability and green
architecture.

This course is an introductory course where you will be introduced to the impacts of built
environment and basic solutions and fundamental theories to the problem of environmental
degradation and climate change.
We will also understand some live examples of how a simple design techniques and planning
can leave great positive impact on the environment. In this course we will understand the real
meaning of sustainability which is careful observation of nature, preserving the bio-diversity
and not just the application of green materials. It will give tools to ensure that the design
follows all the parameters of sustainability.

SLIDE 05:
Extreme windchills in Chicago – Chicago was in the middle of deep freeze this year. It
was colder than Alaska – which is
Green land –
Antarctica –
And North Pole –
These are few countries which are one of the coldest countries on the Earth.
Most of the river water was frozen, roads were blocked and the survival state for the
people became very tough.
Similarly, other extreme climate changes on this planet is causing some serious
environmental problems and ecological imbalance.

SLIDE 06:
Similarly, now let’s have a look at other set of images.
These images represent the ecological imbalance caused due to extreme climate
changes and environmental degradation.

SLIDE 02:

SUSTAINABILITY AND GREEN ARCHITECTURE:

The most trending as well as most discussed topic among the architects, builders, construction
giants and complete fraternity of building industry. Its very important today to consider our
environment and ecology. As building industry plays a major role in the shaping our ecology and
environment. Thus, in today’s context as architects it becomes very important to have basic
understanding of sustainability and green architecture.

Why is it so much talked about? What exactly is sustainability and green architecture. And how
does it influence our building design? All these questions and many others will be covered into
this course.

With this course you will also understand many simple but important concepts of green
architecture.

Along with the theories many planning concepts, design elements and other factors which
really make our building green.

So, let’s start with the course.

SLIDE 03:
My name is Prachi Bafna,

I am a professional architect and have been practicing architecture since 2012. My core
strengths are landscape design and interior design. I have been teaching in a college at senior
level since 2015. Today with my field experience I have realized to have basic understanding of
sustainability and green architecture and follow these principles in my design. These concepts
have definitely added value to my design and hence I would like to pass this knowledge to my
other architecture friends.

SLIDE 04:

Before starting with this course I would like you to go through these 2 sets of images and
understand the impacts of climate change.
