Gramin Dak Sevaks are integral part of Department of Posts in providing last mile connectivity
as a Government of India platform. Born on 31.12.1982, Smt. Selvajothi joined as Branch Post
Master in Vayalur Branch Office on 26.09.2014. She has demonstrated deep devotion to duty
and operational focus. She has established a cordial relation with the general public earning
their trust and faith on the services offered by Department of Posts. Smt. Selvajothi has played
a key role in inculcating financial awareness among the public. All the villages under Vayalur
Branch Post office have been declared as Sampoorna Village in Saving Bank, Recurring
Deposit and Sukanya Samridhi Accounts due to her tireless efforts. She is also instrumental in
implementing various Jan Suraksha Schemes of the Government of India. She does not restrict
herself to the working hours of the Branch Post Office and has been willing to render postal
services even beyond the office hours. Since her joining in Vayalur Branch Post Office, she has
achieved targets continuously and increased the number of live accounts to 4382. All these
efforts have contributed immensely not only in converting Vayalur Branch Post Office
operationally self – supporting but also in delivering social security services of the Government
of India.

Postman carries image of Government into households of public. Sincerity and efficiency
of a Postman are of Paramount importance in completing the journey of a mail. Born on
12.12.1963, Shri.E. Paramasivam joined as Gramin Dak Sevak in Nathathupatti Branch Office
in 1981 and appointed as Postman on 08.09.2010. Since then he has demonstrated deep
devotion to duty and operational focus. Shri. Paramasivam has established cordial relationship
with the residents, officials, judges, lawyers, teachers and even prominent citizens of the area
including elected representatives and maintains good rapport with the members of the Rotary
Club and the Lions Club, Sattur. He maintains database of the addresses and alerts them in
advance for delivery of mails thus creating a conducive environment for mail delivery. This
unique idea has helped him in establishing cordial relation with the general public earning their
trust and faith on the services offered by India Post. Going a step forward Shri. E.Paramasivam
has also achieved success in procuring insurance business and Savings Bank Accounts. By
involving IPPB Officials in door to door campaign, he has opened 25 Merchant IPPB Accounts.
The contribution of Shri.E. Paramasivam has immensely helped the Department of Posts in
providing services with speed and reliability.
