“I Feel Alive”

Whenever I feel unsteady and when my thoughts are too heavy

Whenever I feel the pressure of study that I can no longer carry
Whenever I feel like crying and in this world, I feel like I’m nothing
Whenever I feel uncomfortable and uneasy
I only hear my heartbeat’s melody, one thing is for sure, I want to let it go and be happy
So I put in my shoes, I set myself free.

I went to the basketball court, and from the moment I stepped on its floor,
I knew something was for sure, I let myself fly. 5..4..3..2..1..
Shooting game winning shots imaginarily infront of imaginary crowd.
You can hear my heartbeat so fast and my dribble so loud.
I fell inlove with you.

Even though I feel so small, I gave you everything. I gave you my all.
From my mind and body, to my spirit and my soul.
Deeply inlove with you, I treated you like a friend
Because for me, we have a bond and this would never end.

Everytime I ran up and down the court, diving every loose ball for you,
My heart and hustle I gave, that’s what I do.
I played with my heart, even though I feel the pain, I did everything for you,
because that’s what friends do.
After every loose ball that I dive, I feel alive.
Guess what, “Grit and Grind” is the motto of my life.

You gave me a dream that soon, I can be the top of the cream.
I thought that this could be forever,
But I can’t love and hold you for much longer.
I played my all, from offense to defense.
From rebounding, passing to dribbling and shooting.
I enjoyed every moment playing with you.

How I wish I could turn back the time, when I could still give my teammate a dime.
I wish could still run back and forth so fast, wishing that it’s time to zone and it will forever last.
I wish for the time that I could still jump so high,
that I could block every shot and keep the crowd on fire.
I wish for the time that I could still fly high, and to you will never bid goodbye.

Farewell my friend, this could be the end.

I want you to know, I’m ready to let you go
So let’s savor every moment we have left together.
Through thick and thin we’re always here for each other
Basketball, you know how much I love you, you know that no matter what I do,
Just remember that I feel alive being with you.
