Major Issues
 Fragmentation of the organization
 Due to multiple reporting lines it lead to confusion and conflicts among the
employees
 Priority was given to other agents in India
 Employee mobility became more constricted as each lateral shift required an
approval of the Global product group.
 Verticalization led to resentment across different Bosch companies in India

Action Plan and Implementation Strategies


 Required standardization may eliminate some flexibility to meet local conditions,
yielding a suboptimal condition locally
 Integrated operation to avoid economic exploitation
 Host country relationship can be improved through integrated operations
 Matrix organization structure can be adopted to avoid confusion and conflicts

Impacts
 Major impact was the over complication of the processes which has led to the
increase in confusion and conflicts
 Encourages coordination of the value chain
 Due to fragmentation there was loss of innovation from bottom-up information
flow

Scope to further exploit opportunities


 Greater visibility for smaller divisions as now they have attention from top
managers
 New career opportunities as they can pursue them globally
 New opportunities to contribute globally in Indian operations
 Development of Global perspective in Indian bases
