Compound Light Microscope

Mirror Illuminator
Collects and Electric-
direct sunlight powered light
to condenser source.
Compound Light Microscope
Limited to about 2000X
magnification
Bacteria, algae, protozoa,
plants and animal cells can
be discernable except virus.
Compound Light Microscope
Parts of the Microscope
Eye Piece (Ocular)
The lens through which specimen is
viewed
Magnifies the image depending on
magnifying power (10x/15x/20x)
May contain a pointer (needle)

Revolving
Nosepiece
Objective Lenses
Attached to the revolving nosepiece
Provides initial magnification
The lower the magnification, the
shorter the objective lens
