ABAON Asset Retirement By Sale

Purpose

Use this procedure to retire an asset that has been sold and then verify the posting using Asset Explorer -
AW01N .

Trigger

Perform this procedure when a Capital Asset Disposal and Transfer Form has been received, and an
asset has been sold.

Prerequisites

 Know the asset main number and/or sub-number.

 Know the revenue amount of the asset sold.
 Know the serial number and/or registration number of the asset.

Procedure
1. Start the transaction using the menu path or transaction code. The Enter Asset Transaction: Asset
Sale Without Customer screen displays.

2. As required, complete/review the following fields:

Asset R
The number which, together with the asset subnumber,
identifies a fixed asset in Asset Accounting.

Field R/O/C Description

Asset Sub-number
R
The number which, together with the main asset number,
uniquely identifies a fixed asset in Asset Accounting. The
asset subnumber must be numerical. Asset subnumber
provides separate management of later acquisitions to a
main asset and can represent complex fixed assets with
their component parts.
Example:

Document Date R
Appearing in the document header, it is used primarily as the
document input date.
Example:
06/09/2007

Posting Date R
The date a transaction is posted within the system.
Example:
06/09/2007

Asset value date R

The date to be used in any asset valuation transaction.
Example:
06/09/2007

Text R
Free text field used to provide additional information or an
item description with reference to the current activity.
Example:
Sale of Pool Car

3. Click Manual Revenue field .

The Rev. from NBV (Net Book Value) option is not used at the City of Portland.

4. As required, complete/review the following fields:

The amount to be posted.

5. Click Simulate .

6. Click Post (Ctrl+S) .

SAP displays the message, "Asset Transaction Posted Document No. XXXX."

7. Click Asset field .

8. As required, complete/review the following fields:

This is the dollar amount for the asset retirement by sale.

13. Click Exit (Shift+F3) . The SAP Easy Access screen displays.
