1. “Growth is an evidence of life” – what does this mean?

 Life is the ability to grow, not only our physical but also includes our intellectual,
emotional, spiritual and social aspects in life. We don’t stay in still/stagnant state; we
grow, evolve or change as we go along with our life.

2. Define development in your own words. Translate development in Filipino or local dialect.

3. In the light of researches is closer to the truth traditional or lifespan? Why?

 Lifespan. Traditional has been long-established however could be wrong beliefs while
lifespan is a wide or complete range of research which can show solid explanation or
proof.

4. If your approach to human development is traditional, are characteristics of human

development from a lifespan perspective acceptable? Explain your answer.
 Yes. At first, considering that we don’t have any knowledge about the lifespan
perspective of development, we’ll be hesitant to let go of our traditional ways however
once educated and backed with lifespan researches, we’ll surely accept it because we
believe that lifespan perspective will give us better understanding and right approaches
to human development.

5. As a teacher, you are a facilitator of the development of learners. Reflect on how one great
teacher played a role in the fantastic development of a child.
 As a teacher, we’ll play a big role in our learner’s development. We’ll feed them with
knowledge for them to be able to learn, to grow from experience and intellectual
capabilities. We’ll boost their self-esteem, self-confidence, reactions and responses in a
healthy manner. We’ll improve their ability to interact with others, to adapt various
situations and behaviors. We’ll develop their personal belief system and values.
