GROUND ZERO®35
35% SUSPENSION CONCENTRATE FOR TERMITE CONTROL
ACTIVE INGREDIENTS: Imidacloprid 350g/l in a suspension concentrate for control of termites

PRECAUTIONS
1. Store the bottle of GROUND ZERO®35 in a cool dark
place, with the lid tightly always closed.
2. Read instructions completely before using this
product.
3. Use gloves and protective clothing when using this
product. Wash your hands with soap immediately
after use.
4. Make dilutions of GROUND ZERO®35 as directed.
a. STANDARD DILUTION: 150mL GROUND
ZERO®35 / 100L of water
b. HIGH DILUTION: 300mL GROUND ZERO®35 /
100L of water
(See Figure 2:) Use the diluted solution within 24
hours after preparation.
5. Do not apply GROUND ZERO®35 solution when it is
raining. Allow the soil to be relatively dry before
application to avoid unnecessary runoff of the
chemical.
6. Do not disturb the treated soil immediately after
application.
DISPOSAL OF EMPTY CONTAINER
When the bottle of GROUND ZERO®35 is empty, rinse it
thoroughly with water 3 times, discarding the rinse water
in a disposal pit or treatment area. Do not reuse the
empty container. The empty container may be returned
to the supplier for a refund of K50/ bottle. This refund
may be subject to change without notice.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
GROUND ZERO®35 is for use by pest control
professionals. This product must be diluted in water at
the appropriate rates before application. Proper
application of GROUND ZERO®35, may be effective in
combating the termites for up to 24 months or more.
TERMITES IN EXISTING BUILDINGS.
If the house does not have a concrete plinth around the
house, excavate a trench around the entire house,
approximately 300mm (1 foot) deep and 200mm wide.
Fill the trench with river sand up to 200mm. Pour
STANDARD DILUTION GROUND ZERO®35 at the rate of 1L
per metre. Cover the sand by backfilling with soil (see
Figure 1:). Repeat the addition of soil as the ground
settles over the coming weeks.
If the house has an existing concrete plinth, drill holes
around the plinth at 300cm intervals around the entire
house. Pour 1 L of GROUND ZERO®35 solution in each
hole, then re-seal the holes. If there is severe infestation
of termites, use a high dilution of GROUND ZERO®35. It
may also be necessary to drill holes in the floor on the
inside of the house in order to apply the GROUND
ZERO®35. This should only be done by professional
exterminators.
The termites target dry wood and may find their way to
the roof structure through cracks in the concrete and
walls. Special attention should be paid to cracks to
prevent further ingress of the termites. Pour or spray
STANDARD DILUTION GROUND ZERO®35 solution in the
cracks before sealing them.
Repeat the treatment after 6 months, after which the
treatment should be effective for up to 24 months.
TERMITES CONTROL FOR NEW BUILDINGS
For new construction, make a HIGH DILUTION GROUND
ZERO®35 solution as described above. The application
should be done in two stages, as described below;
STAGE 1. Before the concrete slab has been laid, spray
the hardcore layer with a HIGH DILUTION GROUND
ZERO®35 until wet. Do this for over the entire slab area
and immediately cover the sprayed area with damp-
proof sheeting to prevent drying or unnecessary
exposure of the GROUND ZERO®35 solution to sunlight.
Lay the concrete as soon as possible.
STAGE 2. While the area around the foundation is still
exposed, pour the HIGH DILUTION GROUND ZERO®35
solution around the foundation at the rate of 1L per
metre. Cover the foundation as soon as the GROUND
ZERO®35 is applied.
TREATMENT OF TERMITE MOUNDS.
Where termites have built a mound/ chimneys, remove
as much of the mound as possible, to expose the termite
holes in the ground. Using a STANDARD DILUTION
GROUND ZERO®35 solution, pour up to 20L (depending
on the size of the mound) of solution into and around the
holes of the mound. Cover the holes with soil
immediately after treatment.
TREATMENT OF OPEN FIELDS.
For an open field/ground, where there is termite activity,
drill holes in the ground, of approximately 30 to 60mm in
diameter by 150mm - 300mm deep, spaced between
10m and 15m apart (see Figure 3:). If the ground is very
hard, open up the ground by ploughing it to loosen the
soil before treating the ground. Pour 1L of the STANDARD
DILUTION GROUND ZERO®35 solution into each hole and
cover the hole with soil.
