Last month, The National Marinera contest was held in Trujillo city, which lasted one week.

The National Marinera Contest is internationally well known, there were many participants

from Peru as well as from other countries.

It is not an exaggeration to say that each of the participating couples did their best and

danced each of the melodies with soul, heart and life.

In this event, there were about five thousand people in the Gran Chimú coliseum.

The Marinera contest is held every year and It is organized by The Lions Club.

The objective is that people recognize the Marinera as our cultural heritage.
