Introduction

The culture of a country is formed by traditions, beliefs, values, norms and symbols; the

language is related to the culture of a people or country because through the language the people

can communicate among themselves, but the language as such is not culture, since there are several

countries that have the same language and different cultures.

In this work we will talk a little about the culture and traditions of some countries and how

a foreign language should be studied through culture, with the aim of having a more meaningful

learning of the target language.

STEP 2.

The Jamaican culture is the product of a mixture of cultures that settled on the island of Jamaica.

It was mainly formed by the black Africans, the Taino Indians, the Spanish colonizers, the English

evangelizers, and finally the Hindu communities.

The most common customs of Jamaica are the music and religion, in the music we can find different

styles of music such as ska, reggae, rocksteady, dub, dancehall, ragga and ragga jungle. All these

styles are the product of different cultures that inhabit this country.

As for the region we can say that the Christian faith predominates, as Catholics and evangelicals.

One of the main customs in Jamaica is around the dead and life after death. Nine Nights is called

the ritual that takes the relatives, friends and acquaintances of people who are on their deathbeds

when they are about to take the step to the afterlife. The purpose of this ritual is to help the soul

find peace so that it does not return to earth and frighten the living.

Matriarchal Families - Mothers are responsible for educating and caring for their children.

Civil Marriage - Only people of high society can legally marry

Sexuality - Homosexuals are not accepted because of their Christian roots; they are sent to prison.

New Zealand Customs

 Marriage and Family

Weddings are usually celebrated with a banquet and a dance. Families of European origin are

usually small and most have their own home.

 The meals

The traditional copious British-style breakfasts and meat and potato meals have been replaced by

a more varied and healthy diet.

 Social habits

New Zealanders often shake hands (under circumstances formal, a man usually waits for the

woman to offer him her hand first), and after an initial introduction it is common to address people

by their first names.

5
Culture of North Korea

The contemporary culture of North Korea is based on traditional Korean culture, but developed

since the creation of North Korea in 1948.

 Tourists can't go alone.

REFLECTION

Cultural identity is associated with practices and values and customs of a group of people

somewhere in the world, let's say, but it must be said that not only the place where one is born is

important because immigrants and displaced persons carry their identity wherever they go so let's

say, but let's say that the place where one is born and the extended family with which one shares

the life that is called the nation, the nation of the extended family is united by the cohesion in

cultural practices from what they eat to the breakfast how they dress and their music and other

cultural practices some more traditional and others recent, because the cultural identity is not

something that is of the past but that is being constructed every day, the evolution of the cultural

concepts has allowed that anywhere in the world the forms of expression of the social groups are

multiplied, like the most effective way to be identified, the artistic and cultural practices, are a

way of saying to maintain in the time certain values.

Poetry, arts and architecture are a way to maintain certain values of the past and bring them to

the present and feed them, but today, although many of us do not like it because the urban music

of reggaeton is the way the youth of today have to express themselves and to manifest certain

things that I think are critical or that I think it is important to highlight then because the artistic

and cultural expressions are like a container where they keep what people believe and think

about the current moment today.

Language is the vitally important means of communication in every human being, through which

people express their ideas, emotions and feelings. Every community aspires to have its members

know and learn their language, because through speech they reflect the community to which they

belong.

7
Conclusion

The culture of a country is the product of a great diversity of expressions, as a result of the

variety of geographical scenarios that its current territory comprises, as well as the ethnic

diversity that characterizes it.

We can say that culture is the identity of a people, where the language plays a fundamental role

in the culture, since through the language can be expressed between people.

It is important to know that to study a foreign language, you must also study the culture of the

target language.
