    Samar First’s Road Traffic Information Applications team in action

    CALBAYOG CITY – Samar First DEO’s Road Traffic Information Applications (RTIA)
    team is doing their axle load survey at Barangay Cagsalaosao, Calbayog City. This a 24-hour,
    8-day activity which is done annually to accurately acquire the information needed by the
    district.

    The axle load survey measures the capacity and gross vehicle weights of six-wheelers
    and other bigger trucks passing through Daang Maharlika. Marlon Calagos, the district’s RTIA
    coordinator led the survey.

    This survey also serves as a basis in upgrading the thickness incorporated in the
    program of work done in constructing highways. From 230 mm. thickness of arterial and
    secondary roads, highways should follow the 280-300 cm. thickness which is the result of the
    thorough study done by RTIA to have a better riding quality.
