Catalytic converter consists of ceramic
structure coated with a metal catalyst,
metal may be Platinum, Rhodium OR
Palladium

Can be fitted in lieu of silencer.

Maintenance is very less as no moving
part, & it has to be completely replaced
over a period of time.

Space required is similar to silencer.

Scrubber
Scrubber useschemical dosing to extract
the Sox, Nox to a collection tank at the
bottom, treated with Soda lime to form a
slug.
Two types of Srubber
1. Wet type Scrubber
2. Dry Type Scrubber
Limestone is being crushed, processed &
turned into white powder, this powder is
mixed with water. This soluation absorbs
the sulphur content in gas, then this
solution becomes paste, which has to be
disposed later
Fitted in the exhaust system with all
accessories outside the Dg set room.
Maintenace is Higher. Constant supply of
water, top up of lime soda time to time,
regular checks to access the system is
working properly.
Designated space to be provided near DG
set / roof top to install the system &
accessories.
Separate power source required for
system to operate.
