EARTHQUAKE AND TSUNAMI ALERTING ​SYSTEM

ABSTRACT

Several countries in the world are destroyed by earthquake and tsunami. An earthquake is
result of sudden release of energy in earth crust that creates seismic waves. Tsunami consist
of a series of very long wave generated by any rapid, large-scale disturbance of the sea. Most
are generated by sea floor displacements from large under sea earthquakes. Tsunamis can
cause great destruction with in minutes. So we proposed a new technique called earthquake
and tsunami alerting system which is used to detect earthquake and tsunami in advance and
warns the people to prevent their loss of lives. In our project we are using power supply,
mems sensor, water level sensor, AT MEGA 328 microcontroller, buzzer, red LED, green
LED.
The mems sensor with (x, y, z) co-ordinates which are used to sense vibrations in all
direction. then it sends a information to AT MEGA 328 microcontroller. The microcontroller
activates buzzer and red light will ON.

Water level sensor which is used to sense level of substance that can flow. The water which
flow back is sensed by the water level sensor and it sends the information to AT MEGA 328
microcontroller. Then it activates buzzer and red light will be ON.
