Introduction
In this essay I will be discussing about how businesses need to invest more in digital
marketing and social media campaigns to capture the right target audience and all the benefits
of doing so and what options of sites they have, to capture that audience. I will also be
discussing all the attributes they are missing out on in if they don’t do so. Business’s,
company’s or firms not having a fully functional digital marketing site or who are not
connected to social media are missing out highly on what the two networks have to offer such
as to get exposure, traffic and to gain market insights. Lastly in this essay I will have
examples of previous companies that invested in there digital marking resources or social
media network and were successful in doing so and gained new target audiences.

Firstly, I will be discussing digital marketing. Digital marketing can be described as any type
of marketing for products or services that use electronic devices (Benson 2017). Digital
marketing is so important especially now since technology is always growing and quite fast.
Digital marketing methods are faster, more practical and versatile than the old traditional
ones. Technology has put business in the digital age. Some of the most common forms of
digital marketing are Website (SEO content), Blogs, Internet banner ads, Online video
content, Pay-per-click advertising, Email marketing, and Mobile marketing (Benson, 2017).
These are ways of how companies use digital marketing to capture their target audience.

In addition to this, I will now be discussing social media and its advantages. Social media is
possibly now one of the most important aspects of digital marketing, which would have
massive benefits to your company and could reach customers from all over the place.
Companies that are not on a social media network are missing out (Nelson, 2018).
