RESOLUTION NO. 2019-56

A RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING THE GRANT OF HEIGHT WAIVER TO

ANTON VINIEGAS GALLO

WHEREAS, there is a Jail Officer 1 Quota for CY 2019 in BJMPRO-CALABARZON;

WHEREAS, applicant Anton Viniegas Gallo met the minimum standard qualification for the rank Jail
Officer I, except for the height requirement. The applicant is 21 years old and stands 1.60 meters, below
the minimum height requirement 1.62 meters for males;

WHEREAS, provided in the Memorandum Circular No. 2013-001 RULES AND PROCEDURES IN THE
SELECTION AND APPOINTMENT OF JAIL OFFICER I which serves as a supplement to the Revised
Screening and Selection Procedures of Applicants for Jail Service, the waiver for height/age requirement
maybe granted by the Regional Director upon the recommendation of the Regional Personnel Selection
and Promotion Board subject for review by the National Personnel Selection and Promotion Board;

WHEREAS, the number of qualified applicants in this region falls below the minimum quota. Yet,
applicant Anton Viniegas Gallo's competence could be a great addition to the Bureau’s workforce. The
applicant is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Criminology at Western Philippines University, Aborlan,
Palawan with the general weighted average of 1.98. He passed the Licensure Examination for
Criminology on December 2018 with the general rating of 79.25%. He was granted an Academic
Excellence Scholarship from 2014 to 2018 by Local Government Unit of El Nido, Palawan. He received a
certificate of Basic Reserve Officer Training Corps of Army Reserve Command. He had undergone in
Marksmanship and Combat Shooting at the Western Command Firing Range in Brgy. San Miguel, Puerto
Princesa City. He was into sports during his college days as board one chess player. The aforementioned
competencies and experiences prepared him to become a motivated Jail Officer of the Bureau. Thus, the
BJMP will benefit from him;

WHEREAS, applicant Anton Viniegas Gallo has met the minimum height requirement of 1.57 meters
for males as manifested in the attached Certification from Chief, Regional Health Section;

NOW, THEREFORE, declared by this Board that applicant Anton Viniegas Gallo be granted height
waiver, and;

RESOLVED FINALLY that this resolution be submitted to the Regional Director, BJMPRO-CALABARZON
for approval.
