Reflective Blog on My Greatest Fear

Every one of us experiences fear of something physically present or something which is

only in the mind. Having fear does not mean that we are not brave enough but we are just

bothered by the possibility of the thing that we fear of. Facing and overcoming our fear make us

braver and successful, but surrendering to fear makes us more frightened, inactive and frustrated.

The way we handle or mishandle fear will make or break us.

My greatest fear is to have NO fear in my life anymore. If I have no fear in my God, I

will do anything without thinking on the consequences of my action to myself, to my fellowmen

and to my relationship to God. For what does it profit me if I gain the whole world and suffer the

loss of my own soul. If I have no fear anymore, then I might engage in all vices that will affect

my state of health. If I have no fear, then I might resort to things that will adversely affect my

fellowmen. If I have no fear, then I might have no feeling to love and to be loved because my

action will defend on what I want not on what I love or what my love wants.

Fear makes me realize that I am not perfect, but I am a human being, defendant on God’s

mercy and compassion. Fear makes me realize that I have to take risks in order to overcome it.

And just like a game of chess, fear of losing makes me more focus in choosing the right move in

order to be successful in my life.
