My name is Samantha Henriquez and I am pleased to be applying for the English Teacher
position at Westview High School. I was ecstatic when I found out a position has opened up
at your school. I feel my experience, skills, and education background make me a good fit for
this position. As an English Aide for the Freshmen English classes at Westview, I have gained
hands on experience by working closely with the students. My work as an English Aide
includes small group work with the lower level readers, submitting grades, and creating
resources that will help the students succeed. As a Senior at Arizona State University, I have
taken numerous English courses that have helped me prepare for my role as a future
educator. These courses vary from literature, creative writing, strategic writing, etc.… I have
also had experience with college students as a Mentor at Arizona State University. I worked
closely with a professor and reported my work to the professor. My work included grading
discussion board posts and hosting revision workshops for the students. I strongly believe my
skills and experience makes me a qualified candidate for this position. Thank you for taking
