11-HUMSS

DISSKURSO

The DISSKURSO will be held on October 24, 2019 (Thursday) from 7:00 in the morning to 5:00 in the
afternoon in Bulacan State University. It was my first time to experience and to participate in this kind of
event. I’m transferee. I came from MHPNHS to BSU so from me new school and new experience. My
experience in DISSKURSO is give me more knowledge. Based on what I found out that the DISSKURSO is
all about conversation, argument and speech. It is also a way of expressing even verbally or writing.
DISSKURSO is an active activity towards the effective presentation of information and formally conduct a
good discussion. I expect this event to have debates going on and I’m excited to watch it because I have
classmates participating in the event so I support my classmates and were here to cheer them.

We are divided into 3 rooms it was 2 for debate and 1 for quiz bee. I was involved in debate 1 so I came
across debating between grade 11 and 12 HUMSS and the winner is the grade 11 HUMSS and these are
my classmates so I’m proud of them even if they are first time to compete in this contest. The room was
cool at first but later on it was warm as well I understand because of the crowd around it. The seats are
divided into rows by the side is Marcelo H. del Pilar National High School and the other side is Bulacan
State University. The event started, prayer first followed by singing our national anthem and other
activities followed. The speakers are Sir. Bobby Lopez and under his discussion is “Pantayong Pananaw”
the second is Ma’am Cherie Marie Tan and her discussion is all about “Sikolohiyang Pilipino” the third is
Sir. Alfred Montarial and his discussion is same with Ma’am Tan and the last speaker is Ma’am Ileana
Ysabel Cabochan and these are the speakers. Not all the speakers are able to attend due to emergency
or some reason or unable to attend the event, but other teacher still discussed their topic even without
other speaker. The speakers were able to explain their topics clear even though I have some sleepy
parts. MHPNHS and BSU debate have begun. MHPNHS debater is more expert than BSU debaters
because BSU debaters was first experience while MHPNHS was two or more experiences that happened.
The MHPNHS debaters are very good in English while BSU debater was not expert in English but they can
understand it even nervousness. The winner was the MHPNHS debaters but for us and for me it was BSU
debater because they made us happy with their presentation. I think even in their first experience it was
a good outcome.

The problems that occurred during the event were the sound system, rooms or venue and time
management, still the event was successful and enjoy. Both schools have memory in pictures and videos
have been documented to prove that the DISSKURSO was fun. GO HUMSS! GO DISSKURSO 2019!
