Final Self Evaluation

Since this is my first semester at Pacific Oaks, in the beginning I had a hard time
adjusting to the class environment. I was not used to having to tell my stories and have people
really listen and commenting on my personal experiences. I am glad that I did. I feel that I am
growing and am able to speak freely without being judge. I enjoyed attending this class. I always
took classes that just focus on the early stages. This class gave me the understanding of an
individuals life cycle from birth to death. Since my parents live with me, this class has help me
better understand my father. As I feel he is going through a stage where he still wants to feel
young and doesnt want to admit that he is getting old.
This class help me out a lot, in how to do my first research paper. It gave me a clear
understanding on how to gather information and am thankful for having the librarian visit the
class. That also help me with citing my papers and how to get references. The best part of
making a research paper for me was gathering information from people. Being able to interview
was exciting. I feel that we all contributed in the classroom by sharing our stories as we all had
something different to say. Learning from each other, those experiences and talking about it. It
was very interested to hear other classmates point of view be different than yours. That gives me
a different perspective on how to look at things. As I was able to tell my stories, it was nice be
heard without being judge.
As I continue to attend Pacific Oaks, I have learned to be open-minded and look at things
in different ways. From having many reflections in class, made me realize the similarities and
differences I am from others.
