1. (b) Milk is 4/7 in vessel A and 2/5 in vessel B. Milk in vessel C should be 1/2.
Applying alligation the mixtures in vessels A and B should be mixed in the ratio of:
(1/2) – (2/5) : (4/7) – (1/2) = 1/10 : 1/14 = 14 : 10 = 7 : 5.

2. (c) Let the cost of picture be P. Then cost of frame = F.


Given, P + F = 250 ---------- (i)
P + 75 = 2 x (F - 100) --------------- (ii)
Now solving equation (i) and (ii) we get
F = 175.

3. (b) The angle between the hours and minutes hands at exactly 7 is 2100.
To be exactly opposite this angle should be 1800.
Minutes hand has a relative speed of 5.50 per minute.
To cover 2100-1800= 300, it would take 300/5.50=5 5/11 minutes.
