COCA COLA INDUSTRY VISIT REPORT

Our college organized a one day industrial visit to “Moon Beverages
Ltd” at Udyog Kendra District Gautam Buddh Nagar, Greater Noida on
26 Dec. The bottling plant is built up in 9 acres and efficiently
accommodates 6 lines. It is equipped with energy saving features such
as energy efficient LED Lights, provision of natural light and with proper
ventilation.

We were accompanied by our program director Mrs. Sonali Singh and


professor Mr. Ajay Bansal. Our bus reached the destination at around
10 am. After giving a briefing of the rules and guidelines to be
followed, we were taken to the seminar hall.

An introductory session was conducted by Ms. Sarika Saxena (HR


Business Partner) who provided very useful information about the
Coca-Cola Company such as:
 An insight into the historical background of Coca Cola
 Products offered worldwide i.e. Thumbs Up, Maaza, Sprite, Fanta,
Coke and Kinley.
 Quality Standards followed
 Various Certifications acquired (ISO 9001,ISO 14000,ISO 50000)
 Lastly, she splintered the myths regarding the ill effects of Coca-Cola
logically.
Then we were taken into a room where we were shown an interacting
video about various facts about Coca Cola. Some of them were
 Coke is the world’s most widely distributed product, and is sold in
more than 200 countries.
 Coca Cola is second most well-known word after on Earth after ‘OK’.
 The company replenishes 146% of water which it extracts from
ground water for its manufacturing purposes.
 It has more than 500 brands under its umbrella and has around
30000 total products.

After that, we were taken into the vault which was their assembly line
where they briefed us about the processes and operations undertaken
by the plant. Mr. Saurabh Saxena was the in-charge who guided us
through all the process involved right from the filling of cans to
packaging. We were informed that the factory produces 600 cold drink
cans and 240 Mazaa and Minute-Maid bottles per minute. First, he told
us about the CAN LINE where quality inspection takes place and cans
are filled up with the beverage.
Then, he told us about the CIP process which consist of extensive 5 step
and 7 step of cleaning process including hot water, hot caustic and
treated water rinse, to ensure complete food safety and hygiene.

Next, a representative told us about how the bottles changed right


from its very beginning till date. Much interesting facts related to these
bottles were also been shared by them.

Then, they told us about the various CSR activities which are
undertaken by Coca Cola in order to make the world a happier place to
live in. In addition students participated in an e-based quiz designed to
test recall of information gathered by students during the visit.
Students were thrilled by playing X-box games, listening to Coke Studio
music and taking pics at Selfie Zone.
The visit was finally concluded around 12:45 pm and the students were
offered with snacks and refreshing and unlimited cold drinks by the
company. The students left the plant around 01:00 pm.
The industrial visit to Coca-Cola was an enriching experience for
students in getting live exposure of manufacturing which can help them
in their internships and further career enhancements.
