COURSE TITLE: LANGUAGE PROGRAMS AND POLICIES IN MULTILNGUAL SOCIETIES

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Provides a survey of local and international basic education language programs and policies that account for
issues and considerations relevant to the engagement of teachers in school settings .
COURSE CREDITS: 3 units
CONTACT HOURS/WEEK: 5 hours/week
PREREQUISITE: EL 103- Principles and Theories of Language Acquisition and Learning

Classroom Policies:
a. Instructors are given the authority to implement order and discipline inside the classroom.
b. Only students wearing the prescribed uniform, with I.D. and officially enrolled in the subject maybe admitted to class.
c. Students must be prompt. If the instructor is late for 15 minutes, the class is considered cancelled after the facilitator has informed
the Dean of the instructor’s absence. In case where the instructor sends word to wait, the students must wait.
d. All classes begin with a prayer. Students are expected to stand during the opening and closing prayers.
e. The students must ask permission to leave the classroom for personal necessity.
f. Only in emergency cases can students be called to entertain visitors.
g. Students must sit properly at all times with feet off the furniture.
h. Writing or carving on the desk, preparing lessons other than the subject, littering on the floor, smoking, eating in class, are prohibited
and subject to disciplinary action.
i. Eating or munching in the classroom shows lack of self-discipline. Therefore, these are strictly prohibited in the classroom.
j. Chairs should be arranged properly before and after classes.
k. At the end of each class the room must be left clean and orderly with all the lights and ceiling fans turned off.
l. Respect to the instructor, courtesy and politeness to fellow students are to prevail in the classroom.
m. Students may use cellular phones outside class hours only.
