Many people come to México every year to go hiking and climb Pico de Orizaba. The people who have had more experience climbing said that first the beginners climb Iztaccíhuatl because it´s not that high. On the other hand the climatic characteristics of the Citlaltépetl and the Sierra Madre Oriental are quite varied, mainly due to the altitude and the slope.
