CSIR NET Syllabus and Exam pattern

Council of Scientific & Industrial Research organization which considered the largest Research
and development organization in India where various research is conducted based on a different
field. It’s an autonomous body that was established in 1942 in a way to emerge in various fields
by developing and research. Many young aspirants look for to get admitted into one of the 38
laboratories that come under CSIR by clearing the CSIR NET examination that is conducted
every year under the guidance of CSIR that is managed by NTA (National Test Agency). They
take the responsibility of managing the whole examination and conduct them successfully
without any problem. There is much reason for students to opt for the examination and one of
them is to become part of the organization by getting involved as a Junior Research Fellowship
or as Lectureship in renowned institutes or universities.
The CSIR NET Syllabus is based on the subject one may have selected while filling up the
application form. There are basically 5 subjects that include Chemical science, Earth science, life
science, mathematics science and physical science. Those candidates who are willing to give the
examination should opt their interest of subject by 15th October 2019 to make your choice
official and based on that the CSIR NET exam pattern will be decided. The whole exam is
online mode and candidates are required to attend them based on the computer center that will be
mentioned in their admit card.
The CSIR NET syllabus contains 5 subject and the details of their sub-subjects are as
mentioned:
Chemical Science: CSIR NET Chemical Sciences contains Inorganic Chemistry, Physical
Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Interdisciplinary topics.
Earth science: CSIR NET Earth Sciences Contains Geology, Applied Geology, physical
geology, geophysics, meteorology, ocean sciences.
Life science: CSIR NET Life Sciences Contains Molecules and their interaction, cellular
organization, fundamental processes, cell communication and cell signaling, development
biology, system physiology-animals, inheritance biology, diversity of life forms, ecological
principles, evolution and behavior, applied biology. Methods in biology.
Mathematics sciences: CSIR NET mathematical Sciences contains Analysis, Linear algebra,
complex algebra, algebra, ordinary differential equations, calculus of variations, methods of
estimation, data reduction techniques.
Physical science: CSIR NET Physical Sciences Contains Mathematical method do physics,
quantum mechanics, thermodynamics and statistic physics, molecular physics, electronics
experimental methods.
The CSIR NET Exam pattern is considered based on the selection of the subject. Each of the
subjects has its own set of questionnaires that contains three parts that are Part A, B, and C. Each
part carries 2, 3 and 4 marks respectively. These parts are to be completed in a time period of 3
hours, back to back without any break. One needs to work on their time management skills to
improve their skill in order to complete the examination on time. Indeed candidate is allowed to
take refreshment break but there won’t be any pause period for that, so you will have to make
your choices wisely in the examination hall. The total marks considering all the parts are 200
marks and if there are any mistakes in the answers then negative marking will be applied to the
correct answer based on the incorrect answers.
