Hacksaw Ridge is a biographical war film directed by Mel Gibson and released in 2016.

The movie focuses

on the World War II experiences of the pacific army medic Desmond Doss.

Hacksaw Ridge is the extraordinary true story about American army medic Desmond Doss who in Okinawa,
during the bloodiest battle of World War II, saved 75 men without carrying a gun. He was the only
American soldier to fight on the front lines without a weapon. He believed that killing was wrong. As an
army medic, he healed and evacuated the wounded soldiers from enemies. Doss earned the Congressional
Medal of Honor.

This film is so touching and thought provoking. And what appealed to me the most was the acting. Actors
appeared interesting and convincing. Protagonists’ acting even make you feel like you also participate in
the real Battle of Okinawa.

To sum up, Hacksaw Ridge is not simply a story about violence. This movie teaches about hope, faith, and
about how important is to hold your own beliefs.
