prevented him from firing a gun since then, this happened because one
night while his father was mistreating his wife, Desmond went to defend
her and while he forged with his father to take away the gun, Desmond
manages to take the gun away from him and points the loaded gun at
his father. Ever since that shocking moment in Desmond's life, it has
caused him to be unable to fire a gun in his life.

doctor who cared for the wounded, and that in the future she would
become his wife
When Desmond was in the army, he suffered from beatings by his
companions, even almost ending up in jail for alleged deserter, but that
did not stop him from wanting to help others.

During the war, Desmond had to help different allies who were seriously
wounded, but the Japanese enemies were taking ground in the battle,
which made the American army fall back, but Desmond would stay with
the objective of making sure that there were no injured.
Evading the Japanese army, Desmond manages to save 75 soldiers and
his glover captain with much effort and courage, after that great feat,
many of the soldiers who previously made fun of him because they
believed he was a coward, they respected him
After Desmond and the other soldiers could recover from their fatigue,
they went back to the battlefield, but unfortunately, Desmond is
seriously injured in his right leg, and helped by his companions as soon
as possible, and the movie ends by explaining that the US Navy managed
to win the battle against Japan, and with Desmond receiving a medal of
