factor. The motivating factor
this week will be family, since
we have noticed how much
of a motivator her mom is for
her, we are hoping the rest
of her family (or pictures of
them) will do the same.

Easier: Mom will work on

only the easy names like
Mama, Dada, Baba, and Gigi.
Mom will show her the
picture, model the name,
and encourage any noises
from XXXXXX. Mom will

mimic her noises to
encourage making noises.
Mom will praise her and use
positive reinforcement when
XXXXXX makes noises,
especially when they are
names. The idea of this
activity is to encourage
speech through things she
feels strongly about, and
work in a social aspect.

On target: Mom will work

primarily on the easier
names that she has already
started to say, but also
introduce different syllable
names, so instead of mama,
mom will introduce Mommy.
Mom will show her the
picture, model the name,
and encourage any noises
from XXXXXX. Mom will
mimic her noises to
encourage making noises.
Mom will praise XXXXXX and
use positive reinforcement
when she makes noises,
especially when they are
names. Mom will have her
face her from time to time,
so she can see the way
mom’s mouth moves as she
forms the different sounds.

Higher performance: We will

work primarily on the easier
names that she has already
started to say, but also
introduce the larger names,
like Christina, Grandpa,
Grandma, and XXXXXX. We
will point to not only the
pictures, but also the names

that go with them, to help
her familiarize with print.
Mom will show her the
picture, model the name,
and encourage any noises
from XXXXXX. Mom will
mimic her noises to
encourage making noises.
Mom will praise her and use
positive reinforcement when
she makes noises, especially
when they are names. When
she is older, she will be able
to mix and match names with
pictures.

those skills needed for
crawling.

Simpler version: We will

begin the intervention with
mom and XXXXXX sitting
facing each other on the
floor. She will sit in her
boppy (for a easier prop up).
The interventionists will
encourage mom to engage
her either with her favorite
toy, or just with mom’s smile
and talking. Once she is
engaged with mom. The
interventionists, who are
positioned on either side of
mom, will show mom how to
place her knees at an angle
and lay her feet flat on the
ground. We will then have
mom continue to talk with
XXXXXX and then grab her
arms to pull her up close to
her like a sit up. Once she has
sat all the way up, then we
will have mom praise and
play with XXXXXX, but then
slowly bring her arms back
down to where she is leaning
back on the boppy for
support. The idea of this
activity is to create an
engaged activity where she
will want mom to continue to
help her pull up so that she
can see mom and play with
her for a second. This will
help with engaging these
core muscles and motivate
her to work on sitting up
from the lower level to a
level that is closer to her
mom. We will have XXXXXX

and her mom repeat this
activity for 8 times to get the
repetition, or until she is no
longer engaged, no more
than 15 times.

At developmental level: We
will begin the intervention
with mom and XXXXXX sitting
facing each other on the
floor. She will be sitting on
the ground by herself with no
aids. The interventionists will
encourage mom to engage
her either with her favorite
toy, or just with mom’s smile
and talking. Once she is
engaged with mom, the
interventionists, who are
positioned on either side of
mom, will show mom how to
lay her flat on the ground,
XXXXXX’s knees at an angle,
and lay her feet flat on the
ground. We will then have
mom continue to talk with
her and then grab her arms
to pull her up close to her
like a sit up. Once she has sat
all the way up, then we will
have mom praise and play
with her, but then slowly
bring her arms back down to
lying flat on the ground.
Interventionists will explain
that the idea of this activity is
to create an engaged activity
where XXXXXX will want
mom to continue to help her
pull up so that she can see
mom and play with her for a
second. This will help with

engaging these core muscles
and motivate XXXXXX to

For higher performance: We

ground. We will then have
mom continue to talk with
her and then add support on
her feet and encourage her
to come up to mom’s face
that is going to be right in the
area XXXXXX could be sitting
up properly with. Once
XXXXXX has sat all the way
up, then we will have mom
praise and play with her, but
then lay her back again to
the starting position to do
the sit up again.
Interventionists will explain

that the idea of this activity is
to create an engaged activity
where XXXXXX will want

months: Develops
nerves and muscles to
sustain movement.

Sensory For sensory input during this session, we will make sure to place
XXXXXX on the ground in the families living room where there is a
rug to provide added cushion. She will also be using the magnets
on the fridge and the pictures on the magnets have a variety of
colors for her to look at.

Literacy We are implementing separate magnets along with the pictures to

allow XXXXXX to begin to see the names in print of the people that
she is looking at on the fridge.

Creative Expression XXXXXX is able to play with the magnets and arrange them as she
would like them to be arranged on the fridge.

Strategies:

1. To continue to work on her language development, we will encourage the family to copy
XXXXXX’s sounds, and praise her when she makes vocalizations. We will encourage the parents
to let her become familiar with the magnets, especially when mom is cooking in the kitchen. We
will also encourage the parents to do the same activity with other pictures they have around the
house of their family.
2. To continue to work on her core strength, we will encourage the family to give XXXXXX more
Tummy Time with an activity that keeps her interest so that she continues to push off of her
arms to look up, this can be called the baby cobra. This can be implemented into her daily
routine as mom has to put XXXXXX down to cook or get ready for the day.
