Box 2.2: Other Initiatives under PMAY-U
• Creation of National Urban Housing Fund (NUHF): ₹60,000 crore to be raised in phases through Extra Budgetary Resources. • Public Private Partnership Models for Affordable Housing: 8 Public Private Partnership Models for Affordable Housing have been framed to boost the construction of affordable housing under PMAY(U) (Refer to Box 1.2) • Announcing the Global Housing Construction Technology Challenge–India (GHCTC-India): GHCTC-India is being organized to provide sustainable, scalable and adaptable innovative technologies for accelerated affordable housing. • Coverage of the Mission has been extended from 4041 statutory towns to all areas falling within notified Planning / Development Area under the jurisdiction of an Industrial Development Authority / Special Area/ Development Authority / Urban Development Authority or any such authority under State legislation which is entrusted with functions of Urban Planning and regulations.
