Clinical Immersion, Critical Care Unit
 Provides care for up to 2 ICU patients under the direction and supervision of an RN
 Demonstrate skills such as wound care, blood draws from central lines and arterial lines, tube
feedings, tracheotomy care, monitor ventilated, surgical heart, and Ecmo patients, and daily patient
care (i.e., baths, mouthcare, Foley care.)
 Administer medications through peg tubes and nasogastric tubes, titrate and monitor drips, such as
propofol, insulin, Cardizem, precedex, Neo, etc.
 Completes head to toe assessments and implement accurate documentation into Connect Care.
 By the end of this clinical experience, I will have completed 220 hours of clinical training in the CCU.

Bon Secours St. Mary’s Hospital - Richmond, VA June 2019- August 2019
Nurse Extern in the Emergency Department
 Received patients from the EMS personnel and completed assessments, started IV’s, blood draws,
performed straight catheters, performed EKG’s, and assessed vital signs under the supervision of an
RN.
