PROJECT WORK

Please establish 3-person groups. Select one of the sections in one of the chapters of the book as your topic.
Alternatively, you may select another Organizational Management topic, but in that case, you have to do it and
receive instructor’s approval before the Week 4.

Go to library web site, learn how to search on “Web of Science” database from Thomson Reuters. Find a minimum
6 empirical research articles on your topic that has been published in the last 5-years, using only “Web of
Science”. Google Scholar, etc. will not be accepted. Please be sure about these two criteria. Non-empirical
(theoretical, review, etc.) and older articles will not be considered in your final grading of the project.

Read and summarize the articles in your final report, as a representative of what has been done in the research
about your topic recently. There will be a progress report due in 7th week, covering these summaries.

Locate a business organization that is larger than 20 people. Ensure your access to this place to make
observations, interviews, etc. by corresponding with the organization and getting necessary permits.

In your final report, describe the organization and summarize the overall management structure. Also describe
what your business organization doing in the area of your topic. Do you observe any problems? Describe them.
Conclude your report with your recommendations and suggested future work to improve the company in your
topical area.
