Facts about the 2020 All-Star Game


- It will be the 56th installment to the Midwest League All-Star Game.
- 2020 marks the first time the event will be held in Bowling Green, KY.
- The presenting sponsor is Med Center Health
- The event will span over four days and includes the All-Star Game, Home Run Derby,
Bourbon, Beer and Baseball event, All-Star Luncheon and the second annual Hot Rods High
School All-Star Showcase.
- This event will bring in thousands of patrons to the Bowling Green Community from out of
town.
- Ticket packages will go on sale for the public on October 15, 2019 but are limited to
purchases of the event ticket packages only.
- Individual tickets will be available beginning in February of 2020.

Facts about the 2019 All-Star Game


- Held in South Bend, IN.
- Announced attendance was 7,464.
- Game was tied 3-3, after nine-innings between the Western Division and Eastern Division.
- The Eastern Division won thanks to Hot Rods Catcher Chris Betts winning a Home Run
Derby to decide the game. (This garnered attention nation-wide both in writing and video)
- Betts became the first Hot Rod in Bowling Green history to win the All-Star MVP.
- He also became the 3rd Home Run Derby champion in club history the night before (joining
Ronaldo Hernandez [2018] and Brett Sullivan [2016].
- Eight Hot Rods played in the game (Wander Franco, Chris Betts, Grant Witherspoon, Roberto
Alvarez, Easton McGee, Trey Cumbie, Alan Strong, Caleb Sampen) while nine were selected
to the game in total. (Shane McClanahan was promoted to Advanced-A Charlotte prior to the
game).

Midwest League All-Star Facts


- The Hot Rods have had 63 players go to the Midwest League All-Star Game dating back to
2010, the team’s first year in the league.
- The last five hosts were: South Bend Cubs, Lansing Lugnuts, Great Lakes Loons, Cedar
Rapids Kernels, and Peoria Chiefs.
- 41 players have taken part in both the Midwest League All-Star game and the MLB All-Star
Game since 2005.
- Two of those players were All-Stars with the Bowling Green Hot Rods.

About
The Bowling Green Hot Rods are the Class-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays
and a member of the Midwest League since 2010. Since moving into Bowling
Green Ballpark, the Hot Rods have combined affordable, family fun along with
championship-caliber teams to entertain fans of all ages in Southcentral
Kentucky. The 2020 season will be the Hot Rods 12th season, featuring the
