Chapter I
 THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

Introduction

Today, the system of education is modernized, and majority of the schools

uses electronic and digital way of learning. But despite of modernization, the

traditional of using ‘manila paper and marker’ is still necessary in the process of

learning and teaching. Just in case the digital technology fails to do its task then

the marker and the Manila paper is always to the rescue. So, what if there is a

shortage with the marker’s ink? This investigatory project aims to use the

possible resources to provide a substitute for marker’s ink by using charcoal as

the primary component.

Hypothesis

H1. Charcoal may be an alternative material to make a marker's ink.

Significance of the study

The researchers hope that the findings of this research and study will be a

great interest and valuable usefulness to the following:

Students, to enable them to discover that the charcoal as ink is helpful to

a student to minimize buying commercial ink since this is expensive over the

counter and stores that are available near them.

Teachers, to enable the teachers to use this technique at home for their

own satisfaction and practice cross cutting at home.

 Community, the result of this research and study will enable the

community to maximize the use of charcoal as ink instead of relying on

commercial ink which is highly priced nowadays.

Chapter II

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE AND STUDIES

The purpose of this review of related literature and studies is focuses

with the general overview of Eco-Friendly Marker, and the advantage of using

Eco-Friendly Marker.

I. Eco-Friendly Marker

This investigatory project is looking at eco-friendly marker pens and how

it can exchange the traditional permanent markers for it can benefits these

greener products and it can help to minimize and lessen the damage that our

planet encountering and facing. We, the students looked at what this Eco-

Friendly has to offer, the claims and benefits it makes as to it is eco-credentials

and why we, as students, should be making the change. Ink is an ordinary item

but prevalent in everyday use. That’s why the researchers investigated a project

that can help lessen the economic crisis to produce ink which resulted to the

utilization of charcoal and make it into an ink, though it is not as good as the

commercialized one but can still be considered as an option. This Eco-Friendly

Marker is non-toxic, recyclable if someone is using markers regularly and

cheaper over the long haul.

II. The Advantage of Eco-Friendly Marker

We have gone to the age where we don't know existence without

advancement. We were conceived in it, became acclimated to it, and step by

step, our headway is the fundamental motivation behind why our house is

gradually biting the dust. Individuals have found every one of the things

conceivable, from machines to development to nourishment to dress to nearly

everything. We have utilized every one of the materials we can consider, and

we have exhausted Mother Nature. Eco-Friendly Marker is saves water

because it also permits to use rice grain water. It is protected to the well-being

as the materials utilized are free of harmful synthetic compounds and segments.

Individuals find a sense of contentment realizing they don't open themselves to

hazardous components brought about by contamination. Eco-friendly marker

does not utilize plastic results that discharge lethal materials.

According to Business Queensland, Eco-Friendly products, reduce the

reliance on natural resources, instead the used products are made from

recycled material. They added that it is a good practice of attracting more

customers to promote also the environmentally friendly products. Reducing the

environmental impact, less dependent on natural resources by avoid using

materials unnecessarily. Also, Green Business Bureau agrees that using eco-

friendly allows to reduce the amount of plastic that other products are been

continue using. Using all traditional plastics requires a lot of energy.

a. Lead-free to protect the environment

Eco-Friendly marker brings many environmental benefits. Since this item

diminishes the weight on the waste business.

b. Pleasant feel and comfortable writing

In the mode the writing tip glides efficiently over the paper. The pen is

relaxed to handle and requires little placement weight, which relieves the

muscles of the hand allowing writing to keep on being calm, even for long

periods of time. And naturally, Eco-Friendly Marker users will still enjoy the

same writing experience and all other advantages offered.

c. Better writing quality for everyday use

The Eco-Friendly marker has a smoother writing experience is a

significant advance in the quality of handwriting. For example, lettering is

smarter and more legible, and neat writing makes handwritten notes easier to

read.

SYNTHESIS

Eco-Friendly Marker are products that do not harm the environment,

whether in their production, use or disposal, refers to those products that do not

affect or cause any harm to the environment because it is non-toxic, recyclable

if someone is using markers regularly and cheaper over the long haul. This
product is biodegradable, recyclable and compostable, hence it does not harm

the environment or upset the ecological balance.

Chapter III

METHODOLOGY (MATERIALS & PROCEDURE)

Materials

1. Charcoal

2. Rice grains water

3. Mortar and pestle

4. Strainer

5. Container

6. Cotton bud

7. Syringe

8. Empty inked marker

Procedure

1. Collection of materials.

2. Wash the rice grains then put the used water in a clean container.

3. Pound the charcoal using a mortar and pestle or any hard object that can

grind it finely and strain it afterwards using a strainer to remove lumps then

transfer it into a new clean container.

4. Mix the two components together into a water like consistency then test on a

scratch paper using a cotton bud if it is now good enough for writing clearly. If

not, put what component is needed more.

5. Remove the sharp object in the syringe then syringe the mixture and put it

into an empty inked marker.

6. Write.

CONCLUSION

1. Charcoal is a good alternative for the usual ink because it does not

contain harmful chemicals.

2. It will lessen the economic crises to produce ink.

3. It is protected to the well-being as the materials utilized are free of

harmful synthetic compounds and segments. Individuals find a sense of

contentment realizing they don't open themselves to hazardous

components brought about by contamination.

4. Eco-Friendly marker brings many environmental benefits. Since this item

diminishes the weight on the waste business.

5. Charcoal reacts well with rice grain water.

RECOMMENDATION

1. Charcoal have wide range of uses. Aside form ink, it can be a shoe

polisher and substitute to crayons.

 2. Using eco-friendly products to help the planet.
