CA-623 – Computer Applications (Pr)

Time: 2 hrs. SEM - 2 Full Marks: 50

Answer all questions:

1. Prepare a poster in GIMP as follows.
a. Take a picture Traffic signal (name as Traffic.jpg) and open through GIMP.
b. Take a duplicate and close the original picture (Traffic.jpg)
c. Crop the part with the traffic signal.
d. Include the text ' OBEY TRAFFIC RULES ' •
e. Export the picture into png format and save it in the folder “MIDTERM” with your
Name_Question Number as file name. [5x 2 =10]
2. Do the following in GIMP:
a. Take an image of a fruit bowl (name as fruit.jpg) and open through GIMP.
b. Change the image so that only the fruits are coloured and rest of the image is in
grayscale.
c. Save the image in the folder “MIDTERM” with your Name_Question Number as
file name. [2+6+2]
3. Do the following in GIMP
a. Choose two images to be used one as background and other as foreground.

b. Change the background of the foreground image.

c. Export the picture into png format and save it in the folder “MIDTERM” with your
Name_Question Number as file name. [1+8+1]

4. Prepare a document in LATEX to produce the following output: [10]

5. Use LATEX to write a letter to your friend inviting to attend a puja at your home. [10]
