ORGANISER
Founded in 1953 by Prince Rainier and presided since 1984 by HSH the Sovereign Prince Albert II, the Yacht Club de Monaco has
2,000 members from 68 nationalities. Bringing together many of the world’s most prestigious private yachts under its flag, the YCM
has carved out a unique place in the world of international yachting.

In accordance with its statutes and mission to serve as a link between people who love the sea, the Yacht Club de Monaco organises
around 30 international nautical events a year: all contribute to the Principality’s influence and ambition to position “Monaco as
Capital of Yachting”.

Dedicated to renewable energy sources and their transition, the Solar & Energy Boat Challenge should set an example towards
sustainable development. That is why the 2019 edition sees the implementation of concrete actions to achieve this goal.

At Sea Onshore

- Organisers’ boats 100% electric: Race
Committee, Security, Press Boats, VIP boat
- Electric Bus Boat across the harbour to
watch races from the main harbour wall
- Promotion of electric and/or hydrogen cars
- Electric bikes charged from energy produced by the Seazen
- Strict control of waste generated by the organisation (reduce
and recycle)
- Reduce water, paper and plastic consumption (water
fountain and gourdes)
- Focus on local and seasonal produce for the catering

MCSEBC goal: to be an eco-responsible event in the short and long-term
