Learning Stations
Picture and Labels (together as a class)
1. Draw a picture of a plant in the after
section of your paper.
Your options are to draw a flower, corn
stalk, or a tree.

2. Label all important parts of your

picture.
Time
1. Scan the QR code with your iPad then watch
the video.
* Use your camera on your iPad to scan the QR code.

2. Add a before and during drawing to your

model worksheet.

3. Remember to use labels.

Zoom-In
A zoom-in is something in your model that can not be
seen but is important to understanding what the
model is showing.

1. Create a zoom-in of something that is important

but can not be easily seen in your model.
Example:
A glass of water has millions of tiny
H2O molecules inside that you
can’t see. The zoom-in bubble
shows the viewer they are there.
Energy Flow
Plants get energy from the sun and the Earth.
Energy flow is shown by arrows.

1. Draw arrows from the starting energies to the

ending energies.

Example:
The arrows show the flow of energy
from the sun to the plant and the
sun to the man.
Explanation
Explanations are short descriptions of what is going
on with the model and how it works. Each stage
should have its own explanation.

1. Read the sample explanations.

2. Write an explanation of what is happening at

each stage of the plant’s growth.
Be sure to write an explanation in your before, during,
AND after section of the worksheet.
Color
Models should be colorful! But the colors on your
model should be the same as the colors in the
real world.

1. Add Color to all three sections of your model.

Example:
Cold = blue
Hot = red
Revisions
As you learn more about your topic, it is
important to revise your model by adding
information.

During revisions you may add:

More color
Explanation
Energy flow (arrows)

1. IF you have any revisions you would like to

make, be sure to add them to your model
now.
