Admission for the 5* M.Tech Progarmme (2019-20) in Railway Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur is open to Indian Railways personnel from the disciplines of Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, ‘The course is of 02 years duration and is residential. 2. Ministry of Railways shall spoasor 20(twenty) candidates (Railway personnel inchuding those ‘on deputation to PSUs) for the course. For the candidates from PSUs other than those on deputation from Indian Railways, PSUs would have to bear their expenditure to be incurred for the course, 3. Eligibility: () The programme is open to personnel of Indian Railways sponsored by Ministry of Railways (Railway Board), Govt, of India and also for PSUs under Ministry of Railways. (ii) Candidates with Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent professional degrees (AMIE etc.) in the area of Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering having minimum 2 years of experience in Indian Railways or Railway PSUs. (ii) For institutes awarding degree based on aggregate marks secured in all years of the qualifying degree: (a) Gen/OBC: Min. of 60% marks (or a CGPA of 6.5 on a 10 point scale), (b) SCIST/PWD: Min, of 55% marks (ora CGPA of 6.0 on a 10 point scale). (iv) For institutes awarding degroe based on aggregate marks secured in the final two semesters or final year of the qualifying degree: (a) GEN/OBC: Min. of 60% marks (or a CGPA of 6.5 ona 10 point scale), (b) SC/ST/PwD: Min. of 55% marks (or a CGPA of. 6.0 ona 10 point scale): 4. Officers selected for the course may avail study leave on fulfilling the criteria as laid down in Study Leaye Rules contained in_ Appendix V of IREC Vol. I. 5. Course fee (approximatc):- Rs. 70,000/- at the time of joining and Rs. 62,000/- in each semester for subsequent semesters.
