The Fallen Airplane

a. { BIOLOGY} One of the victim of a crashed plane was found seriously injured and
bleeding, after the bleeding has been handled suddenly the patient got cardiac arrest.
To help the victim, the medical staff do a Carrdiac-Pulmonary Rescucitation (CPR).
Help the medical staff to save the victim’s life by explaining the mechanism of heart
conduction!
b. { CHEMISTRY } In determining the cause of a fatal aviation accident, the possibility
of a pilot being affected by ethanol (C2H5OH) must be considered, given that ethanol
use can significantly impair fitness to fly. A person’s blood ethanol level can be
determined by titrating a sample of blood plasma with a potassium dichromate solution.
The reaction is:
2 Cr2O72-(aq) + C2H5OH(aq) + 16 H+(aq) → 4 Cr3+(aq) + 2 CO2(g) + 11 H2O(l)
The medical examiner submits venous blood of the pilot for analysis. If 36.0 mL of
0.05M K2Cr2O7 is required to titrate 20.00 g of plasma, what is the mass percent of
alcohol in the blood?
c. { PHYSICS } From the plane, some loads are FALLEN FREELY from 100 m height
above the ground. Assume that the plane flies exactly on the equator, the earth
gravitation acceleration g=9,8m⁄s2 , the rotational period of the earth T=24 hours,
calculate the deviation of the load because of Coriolis force when it reach the ground?
