Even though we are not able to perceive it for most of the time, different social sciences are
incorporated within our everyday lives as an individual, friend and a stranger with other people
and all these circulate around in our society. For instance, Economics helps us budget the daily
goods and services in order for it to last until the next production of these goods and services
are done. In Psychology, we have this general knowledge that we should emphatize and not
symphatize with the thoughts and feelings of other people, especially with the people closest to
our hearts. Geography helps us better understand that other people came from different places
around the world and this implies that they have their own set of cultural background and
ideologies which differs our own. Personally, I also have my own way of integrating these social
sciences in my life. I incorporate linguistics depending who I am talking to. I am formal
whenever it’s around teachers or people who are older than me but I am so vulgar when it
comes to my friends. In History, I use it to correct my own faults in different circumstances and
use it as a means of improvement. I am also a man of law and I use political science in order to
determine whether the act is just or not, regardless of its moral intent. In our country, there is a
wide array of issue that our government must eradicate. With social sciences, it really aids in
cracking down the root cause of that specific issue. For instance, we would look into history on
what caused this issue and afterwards, we would look into economics to see its effects in our
economy and we can also look into Political Science to see whether a law was passed in order
to alleviate this issue. From this, all social sciences are connected to a certain kind of issue and
each social science provides us a new perspective towards this issue. From here, the relevance
and the essentiality of the different branches of social sciences are given validity in our society.
The importance of the different social sciences is that it gives us the whole picture. Imagine that
every branch of social science is a piece of a jigsaw puzzle. Now, we put this branches social
science together and they would just fit right in. From solving a national issue or to just
understanding the little things in our life, social science is one of the key essence on why our
species was able to survive for this long. Practically speaking, Political Science keeps our
society just and in order. Linguistics helps us communicate and communication is a must for us
human beings. History and Anthropology go hand in hand in order to trace back our roots and in
seeing the development of human beings. From here on out, I have learned that Social Science
must never leave our side, us human beings. It’s relevance in order for us to survive exceeds
any measuring device we currently possess. We should not let these social sciences be
forgotten because if we let it happen, our own race would soon follow.
