A heart touching reality on Corporate world.
(A review on “Corporate movie”)
Corporate is Hindi movie about the corporate world. It is released in July 2006.This movie
practically show us the business ways in corporate. Every industry strategy designed
based on objectives that called moves and they show positive attitudes or gives bluffs.
This movie exposes the facts and figures that are generated in typically closed
boardrooms of corporate houses and their nexus with the Government of India. It takes a
dig at the corporate world and exposes the corruption that has become an intrinsic part
of the business culture in the times of cutthroat competition. Marwah group declared that
they were aiming to manufacture drinking water in this industrial plant. They were
going to produce a mint based soft drink named ‘FIZZY’.Nishigandha Das Gupta
opted for Industrial Espionage. Industries covert and generally illegal apply of
investigation competitors to achieve a business advantage. Industries treat with
secret such how the as a target proprietary did of investigation Sehgal product
specification might not be a trade or to know formula, or information or plans.

Corporate is based on the cola war that raged between two soft drink giants in the country
few years back. Both soft drink industries use the media, NGOs and politicians to their
own advantage and business benefits. In fact, there are incidents that carry an
interesting similarity to the events that happened. This movie based upon the three major
fundamentals that is money, power & politics. This movie brilliantly portrays how two
major competitors use cunning tactics to grab an important deal. This movie also lays
emphasis on how human emotions are greatly manipulated just for the sake of profit.

There are some important characters,

Sehgal Group of Industries:

 Vinay Sehgal: Vinay Sehgal is a Businessman at Moharatra in India.Sehgal is a


gym-going, stylish starts business with foreign businessmen and conduct secret
meetings with tarts. He leads a team of competent managers and
executives together with his shrewd and difficult businessman angle.
 Nishigandha: She is a strong, independent businesswoman and a top executive
working for Vinay Sehgal. She is extremely clever, sly and often uses
manipulation and deceit to get the work done.

 Ritesh: Sehgal's brother-in-law, joins the company. Ritesh and Nishi are more than
colleagues. They share love for each other.

 Naveen Shroff: Naveen, CEO of Sehgal group. A true professional and ethical
man. Gets upset with the unethical practices and later resigns from the Sehgal
Group of Industries.
Marwah Group of Industries (MGI)

 Dharmesh Marwah: Marwah is a fanatically religious, superstitious, family guy


who wears a different gemstone every day going by the daily forecasts of his
spiritual guru. He has good political connections and holds major power.

 Parvez Merchat: Parvez, CEO of Marwah group. A smart professional and a


womanizer, he gets seduced by Nishi’s charms. Nishi in turn steals some critical
business information about the soft drink manufacturing projects and plans from
under his nose.

Ethical practices:

 Resignation given by Naveen Shroff CEO of Sehgal group on decision of launching


soft drink containing pesticides by Vinay Sehgal.
 Marwa group Meets with Marwah with Gulabrao and suspending the three officials
of FDA and raid on just chill plant.
 Firing of Parvez Merchant from Marwah group because of his negligence.

Unethical pracices:

 A worker of Marwah group sharing the guidance of the company with


Nishigandha an worker of its rival.

 Marwah group offers bribe to Minister Gulabrao to win the tender of embassy.
 Parvez Merchant sleeping with high class hooker.
 Nishigandha an worker of Sehgal group accessing the laptop of
Parvez merchandiser without his knowledge. Actually, he doesn’t know about
anything.
 Launching of just chill mint based soft drink containing pesticides by Sehgal group.
 Bribing the FDA authority by Sehgal group for the license of manufacturing the
drink.
 Using Devi Bapu for the deal of Friscon India Ltd. (8% shares)
 Convincing Ritesh to talk to Nishi for taking the blame of launching the drink with
pesticides.
 Meeting of Gulabrao, Ashwani, Marwahand Sehgal for the deal to compromise
between two industries.
 Vinoy strategically murdered Ritesh giving it a shape of suicide.

Personal moral value system:

 The character of Nishigandha is that the epitome of the most of three values where
she goes through all the agony for serving to and covering others.
 The character of Ritesh depicts courage, justice for Nishi, respect faith, hope
and positivity.
 The movie resolves round the moral of what is right and what is wrong and
should people like Marwah, Sehgal and greedy politicians fall to such level to
taste success.
 The film captures the darker aspect of company culture that will exists in
today’s cut throat competition and does not concentrate to personal ethical
system.
 There are many successful business entities who have been guided to success by
this system.

I will give 4 out of 5 because this movie exposes all the rigid truth of business in the
corporate world.

This movie shows Sexual exploitation and Bollywood’s nexus with corporate houses.
There has an Infidelity among CEOs and highly placed executives. in this movie we notice
industries Motives and influences to get NGO funding. The role of media is very much
important that they marwah creates a bad environment for Sehgal. the importance of
belief of astrology and god men is focused more time. By watching this movie come
across the darker side of the corporate world. We see how people are emotionally and
physically exploited just to gain profits We learn the role of politics and god-men in
controlling the structure of a business We learn how even the giants in corporate world
are driven majorly by unethical practices
