Induction training Induction training is when you start a new job
and they do things in order to give you more
of an insight on the company. Inductions can
be as little as 1 day, however it could also last
up to a few weeks depending on how much
depth the company wants to go into. induction
training might include going on a tour of the
company so that you are able to see where
everything is. Within this tour they might take
you around to show you the different
departments, where the toilets are, the fire
exit doors, and many other different things. It
may also include going through powerpoints
to learn about health and safety, or spending
a day in each other departments so that you
can get a better understanding of what they
do in the different departments.
Performance A performance appraisal is a meeting that an
appraisal employee and an employer must have every
sixth months. Within this meeting, they would
discuss what has gone well and what hasn’t
gone so well within the last 6 months. It is a
time to review the progress that the employee
has made. As well as this, an employer would
come up with some goals and targets for the
employee to reach before their next meeting
so that they are able to ensure that they are
continuously making progress. One of the
goals might be to complete a training course
or spend a day in another department so that
they are able to gain more of an insight on
what the different departments do.
On the job/ off the On the job training is when you are working
job training within a job but being trained at the same
time. This would include shadowing somebody
else that is higher than you so that you are
able to see how they do their job. This would
give you a better idea of how things are done
efficiently. It would also help you to gain and
acquire new skills by simply just observing
what the other person is doing.
Off the job training is the complete opposite of
this and is when you have to take time off
work in order to take part in a training course
so that you are able to learn some skills that
you may not be able to learn while working at
the same time. For example, a manager might
have to go on a training course to learn more
about emotional intelligence so that he knows
how to deal with personal problems that some
of the people he is managing may have. The
training course might be based in London and
he might be working in Bradford, and so he
would have to take time off work in order to
complete this course.
Coaching and Coaching is when a person that is experience
mentoring within an area of expertise is given the
responsibility of supporting someone that isn’t
as experienced as them. they are a lot more
hands on than a manager, due to them
actually doing the job too and making sure
that the person they are coaching is getting a
better understanding and more experience
within the job role.
Graduate training A graduate training program is for eople have
programme just newly finished their degree. This is
because when you have done a degree, you
have learnt all of the information for you to be
able to pass the qualification and earn the
certificates needed, however you haven't
learnt how to actually do the job role.
Induction Training
I would need to have induction training at the company that I would
be working at because this would help me to gain a better
understanding of the place that I am working. it would give me a
better understanding of how I would need to do my job. I think this
is important for every single job role and not just mine, because
when a person is new to the company, they usually don't know very
much about it and so it is a good idea to make sure that when I
have become an HR Manager, I get some induction training so that
I am able to learn about the different rules and regulations of the
company. this would help to ensure that I am able to do my job to
the best of its ability, and cater my work for the company
specifically.
Management Training
I think the most significant method would definitely have to be
management training. this is due to the fact that my ideal job would
be an HR Manager, and so I would need to be making sure that I
was going on some management training programmes so that I
could definitely do my job to the best of my ability. I could maybe
do this by joining the programmes in management training that I
feel I am not very good at, for example, I might decide that there is
too much pressure for the role and need some techniques that are
going to help me with this and so I might join an emotional
intelligence management training programmes so that i am able to
gain acquire the skills and techniques on how to be more
sympathetic with the people in my company.
