On a blustery and stormy day
Lucy, Jessica, and Geoff decided
to venture out to the playground.
Puddles splashed beneath their
rubbery gumboots, the
pitter-patter of rain fell thick
around them bouncing off their
raincoats and umbrellas. In the
distance Jessica spotted
something, it swayed gently
between a pair of razor-sharp
teeth. From afar, Geoff could Quietly like shadows in the night, Jessica, Lucy and Geoff crept delicately

object. The pointy stars and Jessica let out a high-pitched squeal in exhilaration. Lucy grabbed

“It’s chalk!” exclaimed
Jessica,
“A bag of chalk, why would a
bag of chalk be left here?”
cried Geoff.
Droplets of rain were exploding on the cold and damp concrete. At the same time the scent of fresh plants
refreshed the air. Pools of rain grew heavier and heavier, as Lucy’s reflection was seen in the pools of rain. She
narrowed her eyebrows and a small frown appeared on her face. Then Lucy peered into the bag covered with
shiny, golden stars and moons. Lucy could hear splashes in the distance. She clutched the dusty and colourful
chalk and she started to draw curves and lines. Her eyes started to shine as bright as a golden ball.

Giggles flew out of the girl’s mouth. “Hehe…This is so fun! Come and try,” exclaimed Lucy.
Her sadness disappeared and happiness elevated to the highest rate. The girl felt pleased that she and her friends
found this shimmering packet. Then….
It was a gloomy day. However, as soon as Lucy drew the sun a most peculiar thing happened. The sun grew bigger
and bigger, becoming more realistic. The children stared in awe as the sun was twirling above the ground.
“Oh my gosh! “ exclaimed Geoff, “It's magic chalk.”
The rain stopped, the sky lit up.
“Ouch! It's hurting my eyes” bellowed Lucy.
A wide grin spread across Jessica’s face, “I know what I will draw next.” she mentioned to her friends.
The grey clouds faded slowly from the blue
sky and the bright pearl like sun appeared.
Geoff, Lucy and Jessica stared at the light
blue sky and their eyes started watering
because it was too bright.

“Woah... it’s so bright!” exclaimed Geoff.

“Yeah!” shouted Lucy and Jessica in
agreement.

They felt very surprised and amazed

because they had created the big yellow
sun. It was so bright like a golden ball.

What would they do next?

Jessica put her hand into the box with stars and moons on the outside.
She took a pastel orange chalk and it felt smooth, silky and dusty.
Kneeling she took the chalk and drew some butterflies. Slowly, they all
came to life. Their wings were a sunset orange and they flew gracefully.
“Woah!”
“Awesome!”
“They are alive!”
“So cool!” shouted Jessica, Lucy and Geoff enthusiastically.
They all were astonished, shocked and amazed by the chalk!
What will they draw next?
All of a sudden colourful monarch butterflies were floating like air. The butterflies were flapping furiously as the kids were looking
amazed. They were still clutching the bag of chalk as the butterflies were grabbing walls and scuttering across them.
“Woah, so many butterflies” whispered Geoff.
“It was my idea,” replied Jessica.
They were feeling surprised, excited and worried that they were going to draw something bad. What will they draw next?
Geoff peered into the chalk bag. He
eyed the green chalk as he thought
about what he could draw with it.
Geoff grabbed the sparkling aqua
chalk and found a spot to draw.

“Geoff, what are you drawing?”

questioned Lucy.
“I don't know,” yelled Geoff, “I think
I’m going to draw a big giant!”
shouted Geoff.

He was so thrilled that he started to

create the body and the arms.

What in the universe is Geoff

drawing?
A shadow dangled from the light, and now it was dark. Its deadly
jaws sagging, its spikes ripping out of its slimy, scaly skin.
Geoff's mouth dropped. The only thing little boy boot could think
of was how much he could sell it for.

”I wonder how much money that’s worth, would I be able to sell

it?” he muttered under his breath.

They were bamboozled, unnerved, bewildered, agitated you might

say. It started roaring as loud as the krakatoa volcano eruption in
1883.

It started slowly walking towards them...

The shiny sun shone down on the three kids. The fresh cut grass
swayed side to side with every step the dinosaur took.
Lucy, Jessica and Geoff screamed ferociously while they were
running.
“I-I thought they were extinct billions of years ago”shouted Jessica.
Deep in side they felt scared and miserable at the same time.
Then...
Lucy dashed away from the tremendous, T-Rex that was chasing her.
The T-Rex was as big as the Eiffel Tower. Lucy ran into the
playground. As she ran up the grass green pole, she saw Geoff jump
into the black void tunnel and followed him down the slippery slide.
“Oh no what are we going to do here?” exclaimed Geoff who was
halfway down the slide.
The kids are feeling scared and shocked.
Then they heard loud footsteps coming for them . . .
The playground was filled with safe
and fun activities to play on, but
today at the playground was very
dangerous. A huge green t-rex
roamed the playground roaring ear
piercingly. It stomped as loud as an
earthquake thundering and
spreading everywhere.

“Ahh” screamed Geoff

“Save me!'' shouted Lucy.

Their feelings were all mixed. They

felt shocked and scared at the same
time. I wonder what will happen
next?
Then they hid in the slide. The monster
was so big and terrifying. Lucy and
Geoff quietly hid in the deep dark tunnel.
They were hoping that the dinosaur
wouldn’t spot them as they crouched
low, staying out of plain sight.
“Oh my goodness he's coming closer”
whispered Geoff,
“I'm so scared I can't believe this is
real.” replied Lucy.
Lucy and Geoff were so worried they
were not going to survive, the dinosaur
was so ghastly it sent shivers down their
spines.
The dinosaur edged closer, then Geoff
hatched a plan.
In the dark gloomy tunnel Geoff was trying to
hide from the dinosaur. Geoff kneeled in the
tunnel, he grabbed a piece of chalk and
started to draw a stormy rain cloud.

“I hope this works,”Geoff shouted.

This better work or something bad might

happen, thought Geoff.

Geoff`s heart was pounding so hard.

Suddenly, the dinosaur began to back away...
The T-rex stared at the gloomy and
rainy sky. It gave a big sigh and
closed his dark eyes.

“What is he doing?” asked

Jessica.

“I don’t know.” exclaimed Geoff.

The T-rex felt shocked and wanted

to cry loudly because he was very
sad.

What will happen to the T-rex?

The sky was as dark as a witch's
pointy hat. Jessica was under
the playground watching the
dinosaur slowly melting. It was
dripping into green slimy goo.
You could see the sky through
him.

“Geoff, Lucy look!” shouted

Jessica.

She was feeling tense, and

excited at the same time.

Could this be the last of the

dinosaur?
There was terrible wind swishing all over the place that made the three kids cold. Wet rain dripped down
from the dark clouds. It came down and the t-rex started to disintegrate. It became a lime green puddle with
some light blue puddles surrounding it.
“Eww it’s so slimy” shouted Jessica.
“Hooray! It’s is gone” announced Geoff.
They all were so relieved they could barely breathe because how scared they were.
“Well...what should we do now?” Lucy finally asked.
As the rain continued to fall
from the sky, the three friends
quickly packed the remaining
chalk back into the bag. They
gently hung it back where they
had first discovered the bag.

As they walked away, Geoff

glanced back once more. “If I
see chalk again, it would be too
soon,” he thought.

Their afternoon at the park had

been a bigger adventure than
they could have ever dreamed
off, but they were glad it was
over.
