On a blustery and stormy day
Lucy, Jessica, and Geoff decided
to venture out to the playground.
Puddles splashed beneath their
rubbery gumboots, the
pitter-patter of rain fell thick
around them bouncing off their
raincoats and umbrellas. In the
distance Jessica spotted

“It’s chalk!” exclaimed
Jessica,
“A bag of chalk, why would a
bag of chalk be left here?”
cried Geoff.
Droplets of rain were exploding on the cold and damp concrete. At the same time the scent of fresh plants
refreshed the air. Pools of rain grew heavier and heavier, as Lucy’s reflection was seen in the pools of rain. She
narrowed her eyebrows and a small frown appeared on her face. Then Lucy peered into the bag covered with
shiny, golden stars and moons. Lucy could hear splashes in the distance. She clutched the dusty and colourful
chalk and she started to draw curves and lines. Her eyes started to shine as bright as a golden ball.
Giggles flew out of the girl’s mouth. “Hehe…This is so fun! Come and try,” exclaimed Lucy.
Her sadness disappeared and happiness elevated to the highest rate. The girl felt pleased that she and her friends
found this shimmering packet. Then….
It was a gloomy day. However, as soon as Lucy drew the sun a most peculiar thing happened. The sun grew bigger
and bigger, becoming more realistic. The children stared in awe as the sun was twirling above the ground.
“Oh my gosh! “ exclaimed Geoff, “It's magic chalk.”
The rain stopped, the sky lit up.
“Ouch! It's hurting my eyes” bellowed Lucy.
A wide grin spread across Jessica’s face, “I know what I will draw next.” she mentioned to her friends.
The grey clouds faded slowly from the blue
sky and the bright pearl like sun appeared.
Geoff, Lucy and Jessica stared at the light
blue sky and their eyes started watering
because it was too bright.
