General Description Technical Data

Paradise Industry Standard and Quick res-
ponse sprinklers are thermo sensitive glass
bulb sprinklers available in different finishes
and temperature ratings to meet design
requirements. These sprinklers are standard
spray pattern to meet approval agencies
requirement. Especially, the Nickel-Chrome
plated sprinklers are decorative and attractive,
so it is well matched to customer interior
decoration. In addition, Nickel-Chrome
plating might be utilized to extend the life of
copper alloy sprinkler, although it has passed
the standard corrosion test.

Installation
The Paradise Industry sprinklers are intended
for fire protection systems designed in
accordance with the standard installation rules
of the applicable listings or approval agency.
(eg., NFPA 13 or FM’s Loss Prevention Data
Sheets)

Note.
Do not install any bulb type sprinkler if the
bulb is cracked or there is a loss of fluid
from the bulb. And with the sprinkler held
horizontally, a small air bubble should be
present.
The sprinkler joint should be obtained with
maximum torque of 28.5 Nm (21 ft-lbs)

Operation
When the rated temperature is reached, the
fluid which is contained in the glass bulb
expands sufficiently to shatter the glass bulb,
releasing the bulb cap and spring seat
assembly. Water flowing through the sprinkler
orifice and strikes the deflector forming a
intended spray pattern to extinguish or control
the fire.

Inspections, Tests and Maintenance
Automatic Sprinklers must never be shipped
or stored where their temperature will
exceed 39℃ and they must never be
painted, plated, coated or otherwise altered
after leaving factory. Modified sprinklers
must be replaced. Sprinklers that have been
exposed to corrosive products of
combustion, but have not operated, should
be replaced if they cannot be completely
cleaned by wiping the sprinkler with a cloth
or by brushing it with a soft bristle brush.
Care must be exercised to avoid damage to
the sprinklers both before and after
installation. Sprinklers damaged by
dropping, striking, wrench twist/slippage, or
the like, must be replaced. Also, replace any
sprinkler that has a cracked bulb or that has
lost liquid from its bulb.

General Description Technical Data

Paradise Clean room type sprinkler is used
through combination with flexible sprinkler
hose in the clean room of semi-conductor
manufacturing facility (TFT-LCD, PDP and etc.)
and designed to fit through mould bar hole
installed in the clean room. These sprinklers are
standard spray pattern to meet approval
agencies requirement. Especially, the Nickel-
Chrome plated sprinklers are decorative and
attractive, so it is well matched to customer
interior decoration. In addition, Nickel-Chrome
plating might be utilized to extend the life of

Installation

The model PI720/721 Flush Sprinklers must be

installed in accordance with the following
instructions.

1. The Sprinkler must only be installed in the

pendent, flush mounted position and with
the threaded end perpendicular to the
mounting surface.

2. Use only a non-hardening type of Teflon

based pipe joint sealant and apply it

Installation
<Flush sprinklers-Fusible alloy type>
sparingly to the male threads only.
3. Hand tighten the Sprinkler with the
attached Protective Cap (as shipped),
into the sprinkler fitting.
4. Using the Model PI720 Sprinkler Wrench,
tighten the Sprinkler into the fitting.
The Wrench is shipped over the Protective
Cap and can be mounted to a 1/2 inch socket
drive ratchet. Align the Wrench Lugs of
all Sprinklers within a compartment to be
parallel to one of the compartment walls.
NOTE
A leak tight 1/2 inch PT sprinkler joint should
be obtained with a torque of 9.5 to 19.0 Nm (7
to 14ft.lbs.). A maximum of 28.5 Nm (21 ft.lbs.)
of torque is to be used to install the sprinkler.
Higher levels of torque may distort the
sprinkler orifice seat with consequent leakage.
5. Do not remove the Protective Cap at this
time. The Protective Cap is intended to
help protect the sprinkler until the
ceiling finish is complete and the
sprinkler system is ready to be put into
service.

NOTE
Failure to use the Protective Cap, while the
ceiling installation is being completed, can
result in the accidental damage or painting of a
sprinkler. Damage or painted sprinkler must be
replaced.
6. After the ceiling finishing is complete and
the sprinkler system is ready to be put into
service, slide off the Protective Cap.
NOTE
Failure to remove the Protective Cap will
prevent proper operation of the Sprinkler.

Operation

When the rated temperature is reached,

General Description
Paradise Industry Standard and Quick Response
Concealed Pendent Sprinkler PI820 and PI821
are thermosensitive glass-bulb spray sprinklers
with the cover plate. The sprinkler is pre-
assembled with a threaded adapter for
installation with a low-profile cover assembly
that provides up to 10mm of vertical
adjustment..
The two-piece design allows installation and
testing of the sprinkler prior to installation of
the cover plate. The “thread-on”, “thread-off”
design of the concealed cover plate assembly
allows easy installation of the cover plate after
the system has been tested and the ceiling
finish has been applied. The cover assembly can
be removed and reinstalled, allowing temporary
removal of ceiling panels without taking the
sprinkler system out of service or removing the
sprinkler.

Operation
During fire conditions, when the temperature
around the sprinkler approaches its operating
temperature, the cover plate detaches.
Continued heating of the exposed sprinkler
causes the heat-sensitive liquid in the glass
bulb to expand and the bulb to shatter,
releasing the bulb cap and sealing spring
assembly. Water flowing through the sprinkler
orifice strikes the sprinkler deflector, forming a
uniform spray pattern to extinguish or control
the fire.

protection systems designed in accordance
with the standard installation rules of the
applicable listings or approval agency. (eg.,
NFPA 13 or FM’s Loss Prevention Data Sheets)

Note.
Do not install any bulb type sprinkler if the
bulb is cracked or there is a loss of fluid
from the bulb. And with the sprinkler held
horizontally, a small air bubble should be
present.
The sprinkler joint should be obtained with
maximum torque of 28.5 Nm (21 ft-lbs)

Operation
When the rated temperature is reached, the
fluid which is contained in the glass bulb
expands sufficiently to shatter the glass bulb,
releasing the bulb cap and spring seat
assembly. Water flowing through the sprinkler
orifice and strikes the deflector forming a
intended spray pattern to extinguish or control
the fire.

Inspections, Tests and Maintenance
Automatic Sprinklers must never be shipped
or stored where their temperature will
exceed 39℃ and they must not be painted,
plated, coated or otherwise altered after
leaving factory. Modified sprinklers must be
replaced. Sprinklers that have been exposed
to corrosive products of combustion, but
have not operated, should be replaced if
they cannot be completely cleaned by
wiping the sprinkler with a cloth or by
brushing it with a soft bristle brush.
Care must be exercised to avoid damage to
the sprinklers both before and after
installation. Sprinklers damaged by
dropping, striking, wrench twist/slippage, or
the like, must be replaced. Also, replace any
sprinkler that has a cracked bulb or that has
lost liquid from its bulb.

Paratech Standard and Quick Response
Sprinklers are thermo sensitive glass bulb
sprinklers available in different finishes and
temperature ratings to meet design
requirements. These sprinklers are sidewall
standard spray pattern to meet approval
agencies requirement. Especially, the Nickel-
Chrome plated sprinklers are decorative and
attractive, so it is well matched to customer
interior decoration. In addition, Nickel-
Chrome plating might be utilized to extend
the life of copper alloy sprinkler, although it
has passed the standard corrosion test.
