ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

It was a highly eventful session at the R. N. G. Patel Institute of Technology and working with
GUJARAT TECHNLOGICAL UNIVERSITY, AHMEDABAD and highly devoted
mechanical teacher’s community, and will probably remain the memorable experience of our life.
Hence this acknowledgment is a humble attempt to earnestly thank all those who have directly or
indirectly helped us.
We are lifelong indebted to our project guide Prof. Sushant K. Merai
for providing us the environment that is best suited for our growth of the student personality and
bringing up their moral.
Above all, how can we forget Dr. K. B. RATHOD (Head of Mechanical Engineering
Department) who gives direction to our work and shaped to our imagination. We deeply indebted
to them for providing immeasurable guide lines and reposing faith in us when thing could have
gone wrong.

ABSTRACT

Our Project Domain is "HOME & SCIENCE " and topic is " water saving nozzle”

Key Words: In general Normally, about 600 ml of water is used in a single hand wash. According
to UN, about 350 ml of this is being wasted. Now consider that this simple nozzle reduces the water
used in a single hand wash to only 15 to 20 ml

Using atomization technology, these nozzles release water from your tap in the form of a mist- like
spray. They can reduce water flow from 12 litres a minute to 600 millilitres a minute. In other
words, you can save up to 35 litres of water a day by simply attaching these nozzles to your kitchen
or bathroom taps

Chapter 1 Introduction

1.1 Home & Science

Our mainly focus is to save water so we have chose home as our domain. In home there are so many
places in which we can use water, like in kitchen, bathroom, garage, garden, etc so we can save
maximum amount of water from home.

Figure 1.1

1.2 water saving nozzle

water saving nozzle normal water flow to gentle mist, By doing that we can save around 95 % water
compared to a conventional aerator. water saving nozzle only gives 0.5 LPM (Liters per minute)

compared to normal 10 LPM (Liters per minute) discharge .

The nozzles that Arun created atomize water by converting one drop into a lot of droplets. Under
normal water flow, when you wash your hands, only one layer cleans your hand, while other layers
just flow into the drain. Even if we try to be stringent, we end up wasting water.

Atomization creates only one layer of water on your hand. Every drop coming out of the tap is
directed towards cleaning your hand and only then does it go into the drain. It’s not only about how
much water you save, but also how effectively you wash your hands or clean your utensils.

R.N.G PATEL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY ISROLI-BARDOLI. Page 1

Figure 1.2

Pressure is a critical factor for atomization water nozzle requires a minimum water pressure
of 1.5 Bar to work effectively, This can be achieved if you have a booster pump installed or if
gravity supports due to height of your overhead tank.

Advantages of our water saving nozzle are as follows

 Save as much as 95% water.

 Better hand wash experience.
 Get reduced water bills.
 Ergonomically designed for efficient washing.
 Reduced water bill.
 Doing your part for the environment and for future generations.

water nozzle is ideal for standard sized taps (24mm outer diameter) with non-cache aerator, It's
compatible with both male and female threads.

Chapter 2 Literature Review

2.1 Literature survey:

In the domain “water saving nozzle”. we have not referred any other books or author. We sat

with our group and thought the topic on our own. What new things we can do it in the with the

help of high pressure and nozzle we can reduce water usage . After having discussion with

our group we started working on it.

Chapter 3 Methodology

3.1 Introduction
For design engineering we have selected different types of canvases like AEIOU, mind mapping,
ideation canvases, empathy canvases, prototype, reveres engineering sheet etc.

3.2 Canvases

3.2.1 AEIOU SUMMARY

This sheet is developed by the experience of workplace. We focus on the spot of Tilting Steering
System.
Concentrating mind at that place, we realize scope of this field which lead to make foundation of
our project as like structure.
Among this region, our eyes realties, some real topic such as AEIOU (Activities, Environment,
Interactions, Objects, Users). We discussed such topic related to sector of automation, as a brain of
modern industry.

3.3 SHEETS
We have made two sheets mind mapping and reverse engineering sheet as mention below.
3.3.1 Mind mapping
In product development canvas, we focus mainly on designing our first development as well as
deciding what application it will offer, the change inparking structure, development in technology
and safety of people.

Our project, will be a development ideas which can be completed by engineer with a construction
techniques. We plan to further develop technology to reduce manual working problem, proper
guiding and make people safe. Everything will be dependent on the techniques of an engineer for
the construction. To do this we first discuss things related to work like safety, cost, time and guiding
management, security, users etc…

Chapter 5 Conclusion

 With the help of nozzle easily achieve 90% less water usage
 And we can easily use in any tap in range of 20-30 mm diameter.
