Education:
● Earn a 4 year bachelor’s degree, complete 4 years of medical school, earn
the credit of becoming a doctor of medicine, and complete 3 years of
opthalmologist residencies.
● In order to perform surgery, a licensing exam will need to be taken and
passed.

Salary:
- annual salary = $205, 560
- hourly wage = $98.830

Responsibilities:
● Educate patients about maintenance and promotion of healthy vision
● Conduct clinical or laboratory based research in ophthalmology
● Evaluate patients’ medical history/develop treatment plans
● Prescribe contact lenses or glasses

Self Reflection:
● This job does seem interesting to me and the amount of school needed
for this career wouldn’t be a problem for me, however, I personally am
not too interested in treating eyes/eye care.
● I would be more interested in sports medicine where I can treat different
areas of the body in athletes.
