Climate Change

By: Hans Francois G. Cortez

Is it hot today? Is it getting hotter everyday? That's because we are going through a
very serious problem called climate change. It's the reason why the weather is getting
hotter everyday. Why should you care? Is it even serious?

People tend to think climate change is not that big of an issue. Some even believe its
not a real thing, due to the effects of climate change not being noticeable enough in
their countries. This is why this problem is big and a very hot topic. It's very hard to
solve because people will only act if its too late, they will only act if the effects of climate
change becomes irreversible. How do we know it's real? Since the beginning of the
Industrial Revolution, the acidity of surface ocean waters has increased by about 30
percent. This increase is the result of humans emitting more carbon dioxide into the
atmosphere and hence more being absorbed into the oceans, In addition the number of
record high temperature events has been increasing, while the number of record low
temperature events has been decreasing, and increasing numbers of intense rainfall
events. And lastly Glaciers are retreating almost everywhere around the world including
in the Alps, Himalayas, Andes, Rockies, Alaska and Africa. That alone proves how
Climate change is changing our planet.

From the deep oceans to the tallest mountains, Climate change is ruining everything.
There is no longer an excuse not to act on climate change and push the burden made
onto the future generations. Climate change is real.
