Step 1

Visit apply.churchofjesuschrist.org to begin the application. Once on the page, select “Apply Now.”

Select “Start Application” on the following screen.

If you do not have a BYU Net ID, create one by clicking “Don’t have an account?” If you aren’t sure if
you have a BYU Net ID, call IT Support at +1 (801) 422-4000 to restore it for you, or you can click
“Forgot Net ID.” The next 7 steps will show you how to create a BYU Net ID. If you already have a BYU
Net ID click “Sign in with Church Account” and skip to Step 11.

Step 4
To create a BYU Net ID, read the information and click “Begin.”
Step 5
Click “Applying to be a student” and then click “Continue.”

Step 6
Click “Sign up with Church Account” and sign in with your Church username and password.

Fill in the information and click “Continue.”

Step 8
To verify your account, a Verification Code was sent to your email. Find the code and enter it. Click
“Continue.”
Step 9
Select a NetID or create your own. Click “Continue.”

Step 10
You will see a screen informing you that you successfully created a BYU NetID. Click “Continue to Sign
In.”
Step 11
You can sign in to the application using your Church Account. Select it as the option to sign in with.

Note: If you see this screen below when logging in, you need to close your browser and do Steps 1-2 again.
After step 2, continue with step 11. Don’t create a new BYU NetID.

Close your browser.


Repeat steps 1-2 again.
Step 12
Continue through each section of the left-hand side. Be sure to select the “Continue” button at the
bottom of each page to move to the next page.

Step 13
Under the BYU-Idaho section, select “Apply.”
Step 14
Complete each step in the Profile section. Again, be sure to select “Continue” on the bottom of each
page to save your content and continue to the next page.

Select the semester you plan to enroll and the major you intend to study. Click the link below that field
for a list of approved online degrees to choose from.
Step 16
If you are applying to a BYU-Idaho online degree program, presented and coordinated through BYU-
Pathway Worldwide, you would select the online degree option. Be sure to select “Yes” when it asks
if you completed PathwayConnect.

Step 17
Answer this section according to your situation. If you completed high school, fill out the information
for your high school below.
Step 18
When asked if you have completed a college credit, select “Yes.” Then, select the magnifying glass
button to search for your institution.

Step 19
Select “United States of America” as the School Country. Select “Idaho” as the School State. Type in
“Pathway Program” in Name of School. Select “Pathway Program” in Search Results.
Step 20
Insert the month and year you started and ended PathwayConnect. Type "15" for the number of
credits you earned.

Step 21
If you have completed ANY other college work in the United States, please select the “Add Another
College” button, and repeat steps 18-20 for each school. You will need to send transcripts to CES from
those other schools before the application can be submitted. Instructions on how to do this will be on
the right- hand side of this page. If you did not attend another college in the United States, skip to Step
22.

Select “Begin Endorsement” to start your portion of the ecclesiastical endorsement process.

Select the option that accurately describes your situation.
Step 24
Type in the name of your ward. Select “Search” when done.

Step 25
Select the ward that matches the name of your bishop and choose the “Select” button to the right.
Step 26
Print the instructions for your leaders. Set an ecclesiastical endorsement appointment with your
bishop first, and then with a member of your stake or branch presidency. They will then submit their
portions after visiting with you. The printed instructions will help them as they complete your
endorsement process.

Step 27
After submitting your ecclesiastical endorsement request, you can then access the status screen from
the top selection bar. The right-hand side of the page will give you the progress of each part of the
application.

• Black check marks mean that this part has been completed
• Red “incomplete” words mean there is more in this part to complete.
You can click on the “Show More” option under an incomplete section, and it will show you what you
still need to complete. Once all parts have been completed, scroll down to the bottom of the status
screen to submit your
application. Until the
application is fully
submitted, we cannot
review your application.
